Great video (As always). Greeting people is an exercise I really needed to know how to teach my puppy. Thank you. Your channel is, by far, the best dog training channel. I appreciate that you bring in experienced trainers, also. Besides your great training. Plus, the added benefit of seeing people learn, makes it real.

Great information. Presented a bit fast but maybe that’s my older brain perception. I liked the info about proceeding as the dog understands and the parent remaining calm.

Definitely a little fast nature of the group settings unfortunately

Great video and information! Thank you for sharing. Currently working with my 11 month old Labrador towards this test. Yesterday at the beginning of our training he decided to ignore me as well, and hasn’t been as loving with me lol 😅 he listens to my bf’s commands but not me! So weird.

Any California cgc test people you know of? I am looking to get my dog tested. She is already trained for all these test items and I just want to have her possibly titled or have a certificate for it. We live in north Orange County and want her to go thru the cgc test but would like it if it is not at a dog show or the sort since she is nervous of to many dogs in her space sometimes. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks

Question I use a prong on my male I thought this was not allowed during the akc test?
@MaximillianandRubyGraceАй бұрын
@ I don’t have any leash tension issues other than when another dog is too close. My dog wants to run towards them and the prong always allows me to keep this from happening. Don’t think I’ll ever get this award for them

So what about people who are thinking about therapy dog work or people who live in countries where prong collars are not allowed or outlawed?

Been in various forms of training for a while, it’s really painful to watch ppl yank their dog’s feet off the ground, then fumble for twenty seconds to get a reward when that window closed..not that my 22 wk GS is winning any prizes..we did great on the Star Puppy course, but all of a sudden, or maybe just because we haven’t really trained in other locations, he has decided that obedience is something that only happens at mealtimes when he is trained..he feels totally free to ignore me completely anytime and anywhere else..it’s pretty disheartening…

I would never train with a prong collar!

@@carolemuenzer5490 And You do not realize that no dog needs a prong collar to be trained.

@@susans7091the equipment doesn’t train the dogs! The human trains the dog. The equipment makes training easier. Prong collars are more humane than flat collars if you know how to use them!

Nate, I just wanted to say your entire form is breathtaking. Whenever you move and I see your massive, shining muscles ripple, I gasp in awe. When I see a dog near you it's like the perfect picture, a framed art piece in a museum. The light behind you in every shot doesn't compare to the luminous sheen you fill the air around you with, in fact the sun itself dulls in comparison. Nate, my dog may drool over the treats you use but I drool over your content. Whenever I see you post I immediately start salivating like a hound who hasn't been fed for three days seeing a dripping piece of steak. Schoemer is the most beautiful last name I've heard, like a show of murre, which is a beautiful type of bird, although not as beautiful as you. Nate I'd kiss your big luscious lips over and over if I could, but alas that would be child predation as I'm 15 and you are 40+. Our love may be forbidden but at least I can live it out in your comment section

I thought to train a dog is only positive reinforcement
@learning2no8 ай бұрын
That’s like raising a child on candy bars only. Every time they do something right they get a candy bar, you ignore them when they are doing something wrong. If they spit or slap someone you ignore it. It doesn’t work. Positive only hurts the dog. You need consequence for bad behavior and consequences for good behavior.
