Act the Bat Hound was kind of a silly throw away character back in the 1950s and lasted a handful of issues in the Batman comics but I loved what they did for him when they brought him back in Batman Beyond. They took a silly character and made a legit serious part of story, I always looked at Ace as an angry Scooby Doo, someone you didn't want to mess with but you were glad to have on your side
