Hi Tim. I have been watching your channel for a few months now. I really enjoy your content. I know you stand out from others where you narrate in your videos. I really enjoy your narration especially on the train ride videos. There is so much to learn about the railroads and their surrounding communities that I would have never thought would contain history to them. I really enjoy your content. Keep it up with the great videos!

Good to know. It looks like an estuary of the river though I notice all those little bungalows there. Is that a 125 mile an hour zone there? I noticed they slowed down quite a bit for Grundy and then they really pour it on through Croydon
@MrBusdriver9582 жыл бұрын
@Retired Railfan there's a speed restriction at Grundy of 80mph for a switch that needs to be replaced in the spring . All those bungalos are private owned and all owners belong to the club that owns the property.

@@MrBusdriver958 I recall in the past I’ve gone much faster through Grundy. I know it’s 125 miles an hour past Bristol Pike lanes

The Path is also known as the Port Authority Trans Hudson subway. Original namemwasmthe Hudson and Manhattan Railroad. It was actually a subway train system that connected Hoboken, Jersey City, Harrison, Newark to Manhattan. The line to Lower Manhattan was owned and operated by the Pennsylvania R.R which had its own subway trains with the company name above the passenger windows. As far as I know this was the only railroad in America that owned and operated subway trains. This service ended in 1962 when it was sold to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

Great video, your narration was on point ! Funny story , a few years back I was working a local on that line and train #79 was late out of Trenton. C-tec sent #79 (the Carolinian) around us at Holmes int. and misrouted him to upper level 30th st. thinking it was us. What a fiasco . The Amtrak engineer didn't have a clue where he was at !
@Jeff-uj8xi2 жыл бұрын
I recall one time several years ago I got caught up in a power failure on the Corridor south of New York City. I think everything was shut down for eight hours. The first southbound Amtrak train was late at night, leaving New York Penn well after midnight. That first train was a deadhead, to try to get things straightened out. There were no paying passengers on that train. It was all employees of Amtrak and New Jersey Transit riding on their passes. Since I was riding on my pass, I was on that train. It was non-stop to 30th Street in Philly. We made the run in 50 minutes !! Yes, I said 50 minutes !! We had all the lights out on the cars and most of the guys slept. It was the fastest running time I ever rode on from New York City to 30th Street. That's one night I'll never forget. If my memory serves me correctly, I think we made a very quick stop at Trenton to allow the NJT employees to get off. I was going to 30th Street in Philly. There were no Atlantic City Line trains running at that hour, so I took an NJT express bus from the bus terminal in Philly.

It's very odd that seat "A" would be on the right side in any vehicle. The seats in these cars aren't reversible, are they? Too bad you can't do an RFW video on an Acela! But without their own dedicated trackage, the Acelas will never be able to go as fast as they could. (The TGVs in France only do their incredible speeds on dedicated trackage without any other trains.)
