We can all feel the huge importance of getting 3 points tonight. Brendan Rodgers and Callum McGregor will get this through to the team and they will be well fired up for this. Calmness is very much required but Celtic will start very fast looking to get that early goal. I'm taking nothing for granted but I think the Bhoys will go out there and get the 3 points tonight. A wee win and we can all relax a bit. Hopefully domestically too. Not that there’s much to fret about domestically but yknow. A wee upturn in all things wouldn’t be unwelcome. On signings, if we were already qualified top 8, we’d still be waiting till the end of the window to bring in.

I've been fairly critical, and some would say negative since the Cup Final, but frankly BR and the team have done little to ease my concerns about our current form, our ability to change during games (plan B), or the mental strength of the newer signings who seem to get easily spooked. There's a lot of fans expecting a big win but I just can't see it happening; we should get over the line, but we will need to be on top of our game. I watched BR's full press conference to see if it would ease my anxieties but it did not. The part when he clarified that he had not made any promises that we would progress in Europe, but had only stated that he would try, did not imply that he thinks it's beyond the realms that we could lose tonight.

A lot might depend on how YB's approach this. They are already out and so might view it as a "Free Hit" so to speak and really go for it. A sort of "What have we got to lose?" attitude. Or they might have one eye on their own domestic league. They currently sit 9th in the 12 team Swiss League. They have a bit of a job on their hands to secure any sort of European football next season, never mind CL football. So how will they approach it? What is their priority? They'll obviously want to win but I do wonder just how much they'll want it, if Celtic are 100% at it from the word go. An early Celtic goal and YB's might just chuck it with a view to saving themselves for their domestic league games. If Celtic get off to a positive, fast start and offer YB's absolutely no encouragement then it could pan out very similar to the Slovan Bratislava game.

Celtic are in the best position of all the teams trying to get get into the top 24, as we play the worst team in this league. A big win would give us chance of being in the top 16. It's up to us to grab the chance and move on to Villa. A win or draw at Villa would be excellent. Whatever, the play-offs if we reach it, will be a big ask. Let's dream.

Don't think our two draws are that different, both have Villa & Atalanta they've had both at home. Barca & Dortmund similar level as are RB & Inter
