The hardest part is putting it back together. It is very difficult to connect the touchpad and keyboard flex cables because of the minimal space you have.. It would be very helpful if you mention that as a warning or show us an easy way of reconnecting them.

@@ch1baku762 Yep, typically the first ram slot is soldered directly into the board. The other is an actual module that can be replaced/added/removed.

Go to Task Manager and go to performance/memory and you'll see that "1 of 1" means you use 1 stick of ram of 1 slot.

Excellent video, saved me hours but what an awful laptop design!! Others have said the same but a complete strip down just to change the ram?? All they had to do was build a window in the base of the case with a single screw to hold it in. For those who weren't sure about how much and how many RAM strips, I can recommend the Crucial memory scanner which tells you everything you need to know. This particular model can only take one strip and a maximum of 8gb. Great fun putting the two connections back for the keyboard!

​@@GabrielGaldinogv Yes Gabriel , just close the lids a little then grab the ribbon (be very gentle cause it's fragile) with a pair of tweezers,you will feel it went inside the socket,it's really hard though ,to be honest I was getting worried that I wouldn't be able to deliver that laptop.

If I remember correctly you have to push the white plastic clips away from you so you see the ribbon drop in then you pull the tab back towards you to lock it in place. Push one corner of the clip at a timewith a small screwdriver The smaller connector ribbon pushes in then you pull the plastic clip onto it. Bare in mind if your keyboard doesn`t work on a few keys you will have to realign the big ribbon and start again. Took me a few attempts.

hhh sorry folks but the ones how have these ACER SERIES are really not supposed to upgrade the ram , you can replace it if it is down but not upgrading it, cause these versions are unupgradeable in their manual books. i got one i just costumised it so it can fit my doings and my needs in it.

It's impossible. This PC uses integrated graphics, so it would be quite impossible.

There is a way, think its called an EXP GDC card or something. The only port you can plug it into is taken by the WiFi Modem (pci -express) or a spare M.2 slot, so you can only use Ethernet from then on, but that would be faster than gaming over WiFi anyway! And you use the graphics card memory, of course, so will free up memory on the laptop. Linus Tech tips and others show how to's on their channels. KZbin search Laptop graphics EXP GDC!

Процессор распаянный на материнской плате, так что апгрейд процессора невозможен. Оперативную память можно установить любую из DDR3L, ссылки в описании.

Здравствуйте. Честно говоря не встречал людей оценивающих совместимость комплектующих с помощью цвета покраски тестолита плат. Хотя в случае оценки совместимости допустим материнской платы и дополнительной платы, с юсб портами допустим, думаю это имеет смысл. Конкретно в данном случае думаю такая оценка совершенно нецелесообразна: совместимость модулей памяти стоит оценивать типом памяти, формфактором платы, частотой, таймингами, производителями в конце концов, - но производство (частью которого является покрытие краской текстолита платы) модулей ОЗУ и материнских плат ноутбуков - вещи совершенно обособленные, и если совпадения есть, то они скорее случайные, чем закономерные.

This model definitely won't support ddr4s, nor 3200s. You're looking at DDR3 SODIMMs with a max speed of 2133, with the preinstalled module likely being a 1600. You can *probably overclock the ram to a higher speed but it's highly unlikely with Acer's trash firmware.

I have this es1 512 series and the design it's just awful, overheats like crazy because of the cooler( no heating pipes just a piece of metal LOL), integrated graphics are one of the worst, touchpad is terrible, to upgrade ram need to take apart most of the machine, i do not recommend to buy this, probably one of the worst acer models ever
