Thanks for the video, My tablet stopped charging, Using your method I removed the back and found the charging port damaged by my wife putting stress on the cord. I was able to bend it back in place, and it is now working, Thanks, good job.

Thank you! Very helpful in terms of learning the socket connections of the touch screen to the back of the tablet. I did not remove the lcd from tablet nor did I take any of the other connections out. Like you other video, I used a razor to pry open the touch screen from lcd. Thanks again!

Great instructional video. Did two in a row. Does need lots of heat. Could not save the LCD. Still, much easier than other similar products to work on.

Thank you sir. I think this model had some sort of manufacturing flaw that caused the screen to crack. Have seen many many lots (10 or more) of these, as well individual ones selling on ebay, besides the one I have that are broken almost exactly the same. Mine was never dropped and in a nice case, and it just cracked for no reason that I did. I think acer should have a recall on them, though that likely won't happen without a class action. Least the screens have come down some from what they were, that might put a new one on mine, though still using the way it is.

Thank you for attention in advance I got the same one, my screen its broken into two pieces (diagonally), left side is not working and the right one is ok, i mean the touch. LCD is working as well. What can be the problem? Do I need to replace the LCD or the problem is coused by some other part. Thnaks for the time.

If you completely remove the guts out down to the plastic and inner metal base inside the back of the tablet, then you can use the plastic back removal tools to apply slight pressure all around the edges, thereby gradually seeing the glue let go. The entire screen with LCD will pop out within 3 minutes with this method. Total time to remove back, screws, lift all tape, remove circuits, etc., and remove screen is under 10 minutes. Then reassemble. I am now at the reassembly point.

I was just replacing the screen. I put the new screen on, hooked everything back according to the video and powered it on. I can see light around the edges but nothing in the middle. The tablet makes noise when touching the screen but nothing visual on the screen. I did unplug the battery so I know that's not the issue. Help!

I think mine has a broken digitizer screen. I can't feel any cracks. But when I turned it on, it was spiderwebbed (what I could see of the screen was flickering wildly and seemed to be struggling.). As far as I know, nothings happened for it to be that way. But it looks (to me) like something happened to the digitizer. It might have been bumped without my realizing. So, after the first of the month, I'm going to try and get the replacement screen. And replace it, myself. But, I wanted to ask if you thought that was the right diagnosis. I'm a certified computer operator. Have been repairing PC's and laptops. First tablet repair, though. And its been a while since I had to open up one of my PC's. So I'm nervous. Basically, I just wanted to know if I'm planning on doing the right thing before I do it. Any help you can offer, would be appreciated. More info on the tab- its an Acer Icona one -10.1" tab. White and fairly new. Its just a pain in the butt to return it with all of my info on it and I'd rather just try to fix it on my own.

Actually you don't need to do all of this heating and struggling with cards - I put some tape on the edges, cracked the glass to go under one thick and hard plastic underneath the glass and with big minus screwdriver cracked all the rest of the glass. The tape is to make the glass stay in place, because it flies all around in very tiny pieces. You can also wear safety glasses. Just be careful not to break the LCD - same as in the video. Removing the LCD is the same as in the next video. I also removed the battery and the 3 copper stickers - otherwise it will be difficult (as in the video) to peal off the LCD. When these copper stickers where removed, the LCD stays on one small piece adhesive tape which peals off very easy.
