I love my ultra had a 3 but honestly didn’t absolutely love it. Skipped wearing it, skipped the others till I saw the commercial for the ultra. It target me as not only a daily user but as a runner and rock climber. Absolutely love it. Battery is insane. Going to hold out until they make one with something better cus this one answered all my needs.

There being no Ultra 3 was a little surprising but honestly there isn't much they can improve year over year. Plus I think the watches are at a point where the older ones last so long that you don't have to upgrade which I always found as a great selling point to Apple products. Another You-tuber Rene Ritchie talks about it in one of his videos how Apples job every year isn't to get you to upgrade year over year but make incremental changes so that when you do upgrade it feels worth it. With all that rambling said my Ultra is still running strong but I may actually get a Series 10 to replace my Series 6. I started switching between the Ultra and Series 6 based on what I am doing. I just feel like the stainless steel series line looks and feels better on my wrist.

That glucose monitoring would be absolutely groundbreaking. I follow the CGM market a lot, a ton of insurance, medicare and OOP dollars are spent on those expensive CGMs. Industry would be wiped out if people could just monitor on their watch. Granted I'm sure the watch monitoring would be "not medical grade" and thus not totally reliable for someone with a serious condition. But there's a huge amount of low-grade use right now, and that would be gone because it costs hundreds of dollars per month. Highly recommend this channel report on those rumors and developments any time something new comes up. I will subscribe!

I just went to the Ultra 2 from the series 7 myself and I’m very pleased. I love the black and that was the only reason for not getting the Ultra last year, I’m a outdoors guy and the 49mm is nice with the compass while hog and deer hunting deep in the bush.

A very important question that could confirm my choice of this watch: if I wear my Oura Ring for sleep, can the data linked to the Health app be combined with the data I get from my Apple Watch Ultra? I don’t understand their battery life issue. The ultra is a little smaller than the Garmin series of watches. Garmin watches, AMOLED and MIP displays go for weeks. What is Apple doing wrong?

I had the first one too, it was slow to do anything on it and I didn’t like the raise to wake. The series 3 was much faster but still didn’t use it much as I disliked raise to wake so much. Everything got 1000% better after the series 5, then my 7, then the Ultras. I’m selling my ultra 2 for this black one. I’m crazy

It's not only about the watch but also the straps. Sure, the top range Apple watch can cost a bit but most people will buy and collect a lot of straps and over time, the value of the straps will be worth considerably more compared to the watch. Therefore, I believe Apple may created a way that any new strap with monitoring may slide and connect the same way the current straps do. And just imagine what the cost of a new design tech strap will be, no thanks.

I didn't upgrade last year cause I thought there was no drastic change between Ultra 1 and 2. Now, there's no upgrade from last year except for the black color (Which is awesome). I think it was fur me, cause it made good business sense and I do a lot of the activities it can track. I can’t speak to diving tho. The battery life is what made the biggest difference compared to the normal Apple Watches
