Big thanks for this video. I thought I knew how to do it, this confirmed it. I did a few things differently to speed the process. - I didn't bother removing solder with the copper weave first. - I clipped all accessible posts from the jack. - I desoldered each post individually to pull them through. - I used a blade style iron to get the two posts and positive lug through all at once. - I used a dremel with a fine (around 0.1mm) drill bit to clean the excess solder from the holes. I would not advise this unless you are experienced with it already. All in all, not a bad repair job to do.

Nice job. Thank you. A bit over my skills (1st time I've ever opened a laptop and don't have your tools). If you were within 2 hours of me I'd make arrangements. I'm also not truly convinced this is my problem... but maybe.

@@BrianHoff04 what are your symptoms?

@@pomeroypowerjackrepair A few weeks ago I used up nearly all the battery. I shut down when it told me to shut down. Plugged it in overnight for a recharge. Next morning, turned it on.. could hear it powering up for a few seconds (SSD usually boots quick). Screen made a 1 second attempt to come on. That was that. Charge light would not come on when plugged in. Press the power button and the charge light will blink 3 times. That's it. A few months ago the power jack port would make small, static like noises when the jack was touched. Maybe the port?

@@BrianHoff04 have you tried a different power cord? Can you wiggle the tip of the power cord around to get it to come on?

I have an issue with the same acer laptop. After being water damaged I had few of its ICs replaced and now when i turn it on it randomly shuts and charging light starts blinking. The power adapter wont charge the battery but the PC does run for a few minutes with the power adapter. So when i checked the motherboard's back the charign port is burnt. I could show you pictures but cant in this comment. Can you tell me what should I do?
