Thanks for the review. This seems to meet all my needs and the fan/audio and battery life wont be an issue for me as I play pluged in and with a good set of headphones. Think ill go pick one up today.

You got a good deal! I bought mine from best buy about a month after it was released for like $1600. I do love it though. Added a 2tb samsung 980 pro ssd and upgraded the ram to 32gb. I’m not a real serious gamer, only playing a few times a week. The performance is more than I need.

The one I’m looking at here in the states has a laptop 4080 with 2 1TB SSD’s, and the 1600p 240hz screen for $1999usd. Seems decent, but I have to know, Is the HDMI port 2.1 or 2.0?

Hi mate another good review, ive recently purchased this laptop and i have a question. Did you receive the black premium predator card with the acer premium services(24hr customer support and one year warranty on it) everything else was in box except for that one thing, so just wondering if its because im in Australia and thats why didnt receive it with my laptop. Thanks in advance if your able to answer this for me

Can't say I did, but that might mean just about nothing -- mine was a media loan unit, not a retail one, so maybe that card was lost by an earlier reviewer, or maybe it was never there. Don't recall seeing it though.

Good review... I have the same laptop, and playing with the battery (without connecting it to electricity), when playing and reaching 31% the game lags horribly, becoming unplayable. Does the same happen to you?

Gaming laptops aren’t meant to be played on the battery. They automatically throttle performance to make it usable with the lower wattage. You absolutely NEED to be plugged into a wall for the best playability. This goes for ALL gaming laptops BTW.

Yes, but depending on both cable and the device you're hooking up you may not see full Thunderbolt 4 speeds (or just power, again depending on the cable). But at a pure mechanical/shape of plug level, yes, it should work.

One problem on this laptop is when it reaches a certain percentage on battery while playing a game, the fan automatically stops. It is better plug it in when playing.

Yes. if you go for the i9, it is 500% faster than the i7 of that time. GPU is also atleast 300% faster.

Battery life not a concern for gaming laptops. They are meant to be plugged in when in use and in crippled mode if for some reason used on the go. I own one cripple mode is 3hrs battery life watching youtube
