Return of the 3D Era, I loved 3D, I think it is the way forward,. and this will make Nvidia to think of increasing Rasterization instead of increasing Computational processing power(DLSS) or RT..

Rasterization has long been a goal, since the beginning of GPUs. That's why they have so many cores. DLSS increases the number of pixels you can output by spoofing some, so that would help with this 3D tech too. You are right about RTX though. Ray tracing is an absurd waste of resources when our approximations are so good. It almost leads me to believe they're just using it as a buzz word to get investors excited.

The amount of pop out can be controlled by software. It doesn’t matter if there are glasses or not.

Technically you could make it available for other people with you by making glasses or eyewear like in movie theaters or VR to do this... The glasses could also detect eye movement which receives data from the computer that then alerts the glasses... 🤔

As a long-time 3D Vision user I recommend to everyone to try proper stereo 3D gaming. God of War, Tomb Raider, Batman games and others - they simply look stunning, I have been done with 2D gaming for a few years now. It's not just a gimmick.

Easy to show us what it looks like actually. Just grab two iPhones and hold them side by side and press record at the same time. Then post those two videos stitched side by side, two squares as one video. Boom. Glasses free 3D. Viewers just need to look at a point that’s through the screen so the images overlay each other + focus their depth on the screen with each eye. If the left eye can focus on the left video while the right eye focuses on the right video, there’s no difference compared to the data we get from regular vision. Our brain does the rest. Instant glasses-free 3D. Same as a VR headset but any screen will do the trick.

I always found Stereoscopic 3D turned a 2d experience into a an old animated Paddington Bear tv experience: it was like 2D objects were cut out and placed in depth order, rather than true 3D. But that was 10 years ago. It sounds like it's improved a lot to date, especially with no longer needing glasses.

Yes. Why is CNET acting like all this is new? The Nintendo 3DS was hugely popular (well, somewhat popular) WAYYY back in 2010. It did the exact same thing, stereoscopic 3D without glasses using two eye tracking cameras.

That monitor is overall garbage because of its washed out IPS LCD panel and I own one which still works. I paid $100 for it from Best Buy on Black Friday 2011. I've watched many Blu-ray disc movies on it and there's noticeable crosstalk because of the active 3D glasses.

I have a huge problem with this idea: No PC games available today were made with stereoscopic 3D in mind and it would waste precious resources that would be better served in making games run faster and at higher resolutions. It’s one of the reasons I didn’t care for the 3DS’s approach 11 years ago, and I still don’t care for the idea today.

PSVR2 isn't 4K. It's only 2000 x 2040 per eye which ISN'T 4K. 4K would be 3840 x 2160 per eye which PSVR2 doesn't have. 😂😂😂

3D only "died" in the U.S. People in other regions like the UK love 3D hence why you have to import 3D Blu-ray disc movies from Amazon UK because some of them are not sold in the U.S. anymore.
