So here is the thing. There is live search but there was a bug a few weeks back that made it essentially forget. I know it sounds silly but it hallucinated that it could not. It took me about 4/5 messages in a thread to coax mine back into it. Now that it works it's very useful but the fact this can happen is a sign that a lot of work still needs to be done

I just have the free Copilot. I did not know here was a subscription version, but I don't want to pay for it. I know how to do my own researching, summarizing, and writing. I don't need AI to do it for me. Google AI also answers any questions I have. It is the first answer at the top of the screen. Often it is accurate. Sometimes it makes things up.

As a freelancer photographer and videographer, Id love an AI assistant which correctly backs up footage into correct folders and drives, then ingests footage into my NLE to begin editing, or starts my edit, be it colour correcting images or preparing rough cut of video.

The problem with agents is that they should program it as a human empathetic friend, right now it is so restricted and boring that you actually do not want to use it… a voice mode is just nice to use if it feels like a friend, not merely your voice chat bot.

I might have missed this elsewhere in the Copilot+ product demos, but it really seems like a missed opportunity not sell this as an onboard troubleshooter/task assistant. The features they've announced (and redacted) seem kind of like they're reaching for a reason to employ AI, when in my opinion the most useful purposes are more obvious. "Hey Copilot... ...can you pair my new Bluetooth headphones?" ...can you help me find the file I downloaded?" ...why is Photoshop crashing?" Instead of digging into menus or going through semi-painful processes, just asking the PC to do/fix what you want would be actually helpful.

If I used Copilot pro in the Edge browser, there used to be a button to start a new chat. I don't know how to start a new chat now? There also use to be a list of the chat history, I don't see this list anymore. Can you please make a video to explain it.

Were you able to resolve it? It's all in the video. I think I understand what you might mean, I had to watch it a few times to catch it. At the bottom of the Microsoft Edge Copilot sidebar: Logo|+|Input|Deep Thinker|🎙️ I've used the + to Start new chat, and the Logo to view History (once I click it, it turns into a ⏰). Once you open the History screen, the bottom bar turns into X|🖊️, X to close history and 🖊️ to Start New Chat. 🫂🍀

I'm confused by this video, Copilot definitely looks up live information, just ask it. It's also far more than just a chatbot as it integrates into your office apps. While you're not able to upload various document types to the window you're using, it will easily analyse actual documents on your PC if you just open them.

what good is it if you can't even upload a txt document or a pdf. Doesn't seem to be a way to save your own AI prompts or a prompt library or all the other stuff that ChatGPT can do. Now I suppose you do get Ai for your 365 apps if you pay the $20/month. But as a stand alone app, $20 or $240/years is a lot of money. And unfortunately it is MS app restricted as far as the apps it can control. If you don't pay for a Office 365 subscription, the $20/month for a chatbot is way overpriced considering other LLMs, including ChatGPT, seem to allow for more functionality than copilot.

They aren’t charging for a simple feature that already exists on your system. The $20/month charge is for the usage of the servers that compute your voice and the AI’s voice. LLM prompts are expensive to run and by offering an advanced feature, they can make that money back. This is a company, not a charity

Windows is proprietary and if you took 2 seconds to think about the predatory behavior Microsoft practices combined with the proprietary nature of their operating system you would know there is no surefire way to know exactly whats going on under the hood...
