The Acer Spin 5 is a 13.3 inch thin and light 2-in-1 laptop, so you can use it as both a traditional laptop or flip the screen over and use it like a tablet. This review will show you the features of the laptop to help you decide if it’s worth it.

So i got this laptop 2 days ago. Here’s my take on it: 1) It warms up quickly 2) you can run fortnite on low-med settings and it’s playable. 3) the sound is great 4) love the fact it can go into tablet mode and mine came with the pen and it’s so much fun 5) if it’s not on a steady surface it doesn’t feel durable. 6) battery life is not equivalent to what’s been advertised which was disappointing Aside from all that, it’s actually a good laptop especially for the price point considering its competition. It came down to either the dell Inspiron 13 7000 with the same specs and price. But this one had more bang for the buck. Also, great review 👍

Tbh, this laptop is a big disappointment for me. My 2 years tenure ended with me ditching this for a mac. The bad: - the stylus is extremely unreliable. It keeps disconnecting for no reason all the time. - battery life is terrible. When I bought this, it was like, 7 hours. Now it’s 2 hours. - overheats for no reason, even when not doing anything. - the fingerprint scanner is also unreliable as hell. Annoying: - the buttons at the side does accidental clicks when I prop the tablet vertically. - trackpad is mehhhh - chunky bezels, and it weighs quite a bit Good - speakers are great - nice display

BRAVO SIX I use it mostly for coding. I guess it just degraded with age. But what surprises me is that it runs HOT even when my computer is not doing anything after factory reset. And it drains a significant portion when on sleep/standby.

have the same 2-in-1. really happy with it so far. I only use it for uni, youtube/netflix and internet browsing. only negative points I have to bring up: IPS panel is reflective, which means a lot of glare. audio, although surprisingly loud and of good quality, sometimes starts crackling, which is only resolved by restarting the PC. Also CPU fans gets super loud under load. Got it for 600.- USD instead of 950.- so can't really complain though and at that price a steal. lol

If you go to the Acer US support site and do a search there is a fix for the crackling sound. Someone posted the same problem in the community support and another user answered the problem with a solution. It involves turning off some settings.

The single fact that Acer does not offer anything above 8GB of RAM in any of their Spin models (So weird right?) pushed me away from this laptop. Such a shame.
@JarrodsTech
@JarrodsTech 6 жыл бұрын
I didn't notice that, one model actually seems to have 4GB 😛 I guess because it's soldered to the board there were limitations or something.
@ignasanchezl
@ignasanchezl 6 жыл бұрын
Jarrod'sTech Well maybe just in this model (although im sure if they actually wanted to they could fit 16gb). It does not only apply to this model, every single non "gaming" consumer laptop Acer sells has a maximum of 8gb of RAM, no matter how expensive it is. Even the Aspire model where the motherboard has 2 RAM slots and supports up to 32GB, nope only 8 for you. I have no Idea what Acer is thinking. This is pushing me away from literally all of their products without upgradable RAM, which are like 90% of the interesting ones. Just take a look at their site.

Hey Jarrod, love ur camera action. And video quality. Very professional. I love the fact that you get technical with performance. I do have one question though; what should I get, the Dell inspiron 13 5000 or the acer spin 5? It's one of the 2 but I cannot seem to figure out the real differences. I think the Dell has a Sata ssd, vs the acer's M. 2, which is a big point for the acer, but other than that I can't decide. What do you recommend? Ty
@JarrodsTech
@JarrodsTech 6 жыл бұрын
Thanks Simeon! I haven't tested the Dell 13 5000 myself so can only really talk in terms of specs sheet / pricing, I've actually got the Dell XPS 15 2-in-1 here at the moment for review but that's probably the next level up. Not sure if you're looking at the new 8th gen model or older 7th gen? In either case in that form factor it probably uses an M.2 SSD too, M.2 only refers to the connector, you can get both SATA based or PCIe NVMe M.2 drives. That said I don't actually know, the Dell website doesn't list M.2 or 2.5" drive either way as far as I can see. If it's anything like the XPS 15 I'm currently using but smaller then it's probably going to be pretty good.

I have it and it's not worth it at all. With full features and warranty. (I7 processor) it's 1600 dollars. However once it breaks 80% disk space it stops... your computer will stop once over 80% disk... so if you want a computer that crashes constantly, and frezzes then this is for you!! Also recording is impossible. The mic is too quiet or too loud and the cam is horrifying.
