Ace Combat 5's PS4 port includes some minor fixes and changes, which was surprising! The ACES tunnel glitch is still around, but it doesn't let you skip half the tunnel anymore...
Video was recorded and edited solely through the PS4 built-in features, including SHAREfactory™. I own a day-one PlayStation 4 model, which is why the video is in 720p and not in glorious 1080p which requires a PS4 Pro. This game looks so beautiful in 1080p ♥
I was playing on Ace difficulty, which is why I have 96% damage, damn those gun towers. Also, on my way back, the game decided to target something inside the tunnel...?
Instructions to perform the glitch:
When the Mission Update starts after the in-flight briefing, fly above the tunnel to the north.
When you get to the combat zone border, turn around and look for the tunnel exit. It should be aligned with the tunnel entrance back in Sudentor.
Fly very close to the tunnel exit, but do not fly inside. You'll know the glitch is triggered when Bartlett says "I'll be passing you by head-on."
Go back to Sudentor and fly into the tunnel entrance, and do the tunnel flight normally. You'll notice that Hamilton isn't chasing you inside the tunnel.
Destroy the core. The mission isn't completed immediately, but you still won't have Hamilton behind you.

Another demonstration of the sheer amount of rarely-if-ever heard radio lines in AC5. Who would normally take four and a half minutes to go into the tunnel? It's just bonkers, and it's not as if you don't have a packed radio script as is.

I remember being blown away by those unused radio lines when I first heard them trying this glitch, makes the game much more memorable. That something in the tunnel was probably the core.

Considering i use the f 15 on almost every mission on this game, this glitch saved me a lot of trouble in AC5. Glad to see it lives on in the ps4 port.

No. This is a PS4 port of AC5, only available if you pre-ordered the PS4 version of AC7. You might still be able to get it if you purchase the Digital Deluxe Edition of AC7 from the European PSN store because they forgot to remove it from there, but I don't know if that still works.

Surely at 2:37 it was locking on the SOLG core into the tunnel, maybe the tunnel is a separate area that is not phisically in the original mission area, so you can lock on it from outside, but you can't see it, just because it appear on the radar and the HUD when you are phisically into the tunnel (because previous mission target is the tunnel entrance)

This was way too far north to be the core. Consider my position on the radar and how far you still have to fly after destroying the core, including the Bartlett pass.

I never, ever got the Arkbird glitch to work on any version of the game XD So I would have no idea how to trigger it on the PS4 version.

The arkbird glitch has been seen on the PS4 version, there was a video on facebook the other day. To recreate the glitch you need to kill a UAV while its going supersonic when the Arkbird is about to fire its main engine as its falling to earth. You get about a minute to do it.

This glitch saved my ass so many times when I was flying the Falken. For some reason I could never get past those two cross members at 6:48 in that plane so when I found out about the glitch a couple years ago I started using it and have never done it any other way since. Then again if I just held the afterburner on it might’ve not been an issue but no matter what controller I would use if I went full afterburner through that entire tunnel if end up drifting into Bartlett.

Hey Sly Cooper Fan. I thought about something on your AC5 sins video. When AWACS says “Mass Driver hit by a cruise missle!” I think it’s referring to the cutscene. Idk if you figured it out or knew it and decided to make a sin anyway

No. That makes no sense. There is no missile there. The cutscene is just the SSTO hitting the launch point.

SlyCooperFan1 The SSTO does launch through an explosion but like a good portion of things in AC it can be up to the players interpretation. Trivial detail on a great video

Totally unrelated to this video, but has anyone else had problems when changing the plane skin after you complete the campaign? If I remember correctly on the PS2 game you had to use the select button but obviously a PS4 controller has no select button

Try pressing the motion sensor pad, I think that replaces Select.
