Not trying to be smug but being a mercenary is a war crime. I don’t think it exists in project wingman but in like 95% of the world mercenaries are technically illegal but you can get around it by being a Private Security Company and sell protection or security as a service. So basically you can pay a PMC to protect an important asset is fine. But just saying hey I got money for you if you fight for me is illegal.

Galm's existence could've been concealed or retconned by the allied governments. Perhaps they don't want the people to know that they relied heavily on mercenaries during the war because it might affect the morale of their militaries and those aspiring to be military. It would make them seem weak. The average person may not have known of the existence of AWWNB because it too may have been concealed by the governments. The average person knows what happened in the Belkan War, but not what happened in depth and the governments could just withhold that information to not intice any average Belkan to suddenly become so nationalist. Hence, to the public, the war was still very much shrouded in mystery.

I know this is late but at 17:50 small correction. Originally the game had a line by George on the mission “Lighthouse” where he apologies for his mistakes to everyone on an open channel. George was the one who perfected the fake IFF to mimic Osean aircraft, and HE was the one who shot down Harling, knowing that it would be pinned on Trigger. He said that he flew away after the incident and regretted it, hoping to be forgiven. Shroder helped with the Drones, George helped with the IFF, that’s why he was guilt ridden. You can hear this dialogue on the mod “sky’s restored” (Lots of the radio dialogue cut out actually helps explain much more about the game, filling in where the cutscenes do not.)

Where do I start? The crap storyline where the main character is framed, gets treated like crap and is given a warplane and expected to defend his prison (dunno much about the rest of the story after that cos I gave up half way), the over the top weather system that had you flying into a sandstorm (that's when I gave up cos it was so stupid) or the fact you had to pay extra for planes that were free in the previous games? The other thing I hated, which is not just an AC07 thing, is that after I bought the basic game i wanted to buy the Top Gun Maverick version when it went on sale but wasn't able to because I already own the game. Yeah I could have bought the DLC but I'm not paying more for a DLC than I paid for the base game and it's never been on sale at a price lower than the Top Gun Maverick game edition. Suffice to say that I still haven't bought it and probably never will.

Also also, Sly says that Nagase is only in this game for the fans to freak out. I agree, i freaked out too. But it also made sense in my head. I remember in AC5 the reactions of Nagase when we were trying to destroy the Arkbird. She knew all about it, Space and what lies beyond the skies have always been a fascination of hers and we felt that, and now look where shes gotten…piloting a space ship, going beyond the skies, into the cosmos, being a captain herself. It gave me a tear of pride.

The reason there wasn't a line on the plane that killed Harling is due to it not being a drone. Just Georg with a spoofed IFF as Labarnthe mentions they spoofed an IFF to impersonate an Osean up and comer and blame them for Harling. Count comments on this. Count's comment about 'all hostiles down' in a mission with IFF issues is him amazed that he didn't kill any friendlies when the AWACS had to manually set new IFF.
