Catch n' Cook GOLDEN PIRANHA!

I finally got to catch and cook my first piranha! It was a golden little devil. Fishing for them reminded me a lot of trout fishing - we just tossed out spinners and slowly reeled them in. The hooks were beefed up compared to trout spinners but the principle was the same. I am loving cooking fish up right on the boat! You guys will see a lot more of that in the future!

Brazilian here. I caught some piranhas, and never broke the jaw of it, but I can assure you: I don't blame him. Those are some mean bitches. Can take of your finger in a blink of an eye. The guy was saying "cuidado, cuidado" (carefull, carefull) when you brought it to the boat because if it falls, say goodbye to a toe, easily.

in answer to your question i have searched deeply for how many species of piranha there are and it came up as 5 but the most known ones are the black piranha which is the largest and can grow up to 7 pounds there is also the golden piranha and red belly piranha
