Visiting Maine for the first time, Zach Fowler took me lobster and crab trapping on the bay! We then brought our catch to private island and had an epic cookout with camping afterwards!

Not that I care but you are not supposed to keep female lobsters carrying eggs. Typically they will carry eggs after shedding and their shell will be soft. I would be more careful next time. You could have your license revoked and fined per lobster. Props for using everything the lobster offers. You do things the traditional way for sure

Always look out for snakes around wild raspberry or black berry bushes. In texas copperheads cottonmouths and rattlesnakes will curl up and wait for birds to come and eat them. At my family’s ranch we have wild blueberries and blackberries everywhere. A bird will eat a blackberry or blueberry and fly over do it’s buisness in the air and the seeds pass. I had to learn the hard way when I was picking wild blackberries and realized my hand was half a foot from a cottonmouth and instead of pulling my hand away I felt it was to late and tried to grab it at the neck. I got bit and my hand turned into the size of softball and had to goto the hospital for antibiotics and anti venom. The worst part was the burning and hallucinations then the draining. So always watch out when you come across wild berries. Snakes love to ambush birds in those bushes.

I have never eaten actual lobster, because I have never eaten any seafood other than Orange Roughy that my mom used to make, but when I was a kid I always loved rice with lobster sauce. My youngest son just told me that he's eaten lobster and he loved it, but I am 40 and I've never had it. I have to try it sometime though...

Best thing about those Jonah crabs is the crab butter inside of the shell. I was born in Rhode Island, used to eat them all the time. Miss the huge quahog clams there as well.

So in the beginning of the video there is mention of avoid not getting stuck in the line with the trap… that’s what happened to my father when he was testing out our family boat when the motors prop got stuck in a trap and after untangling he got pulled into the water and couldn’t find his way back to the boat (or so is the theory) and despite being a strong swimmer never made it back to the boat and was succumb to the cold and passed away… so a word to the wise heed the warning!
