They saw that he stole things, but they did not speak up of the wrong things he did. Same with us, God says that if we see a person sinning and we are told to correct them, but we decided to keep quiet rather. If it happens that the person dies without repenting, they blood is upon us, and we will pay for their sins because it could have happened that if we corrected them, they would have changed.
