Here is the real original fight : There is no longer any escape for you; under my spear Tritogen Will tame you soon, and you will pay at once for the grief My friends whom you have beaten, raging, with copper! " Rivers he - and, powerfully shaking, he sent a long-length lance. At the time he saw her, the glittering Hector escaped; He quickly crouched to the ground, and above him a flying peak It stuck into the ground; but, having snatched it out, Achilles Pallas Once again, she handed it, invisible to Hector, the horseman of Troy. Hector loudly exclaimed to Peleev's glorious son: "The blow is praised! and not in the least, Pelid, like immortals, You did not know my share from Zeus, although you announced to me; But talkative and insidious in your speeches, you were before me With the goal that I, feeling timid, would lose both courage and strength. No, I do not intend to run; you will not thrust a spear into my spine, Straight my chest with my face directed at you, pierce me, Δ If God has judged that! But the spears and beware of this Copper! If, acute, you took it all into your body! It would have been easier for the sons of Ilion to fight a bloody battle, If I crushed you, - you, their cruel death! " Rivers he - and, shaking powerfully, threw a long spear, And he did not throw it: in the middle of the shield he struck Achilles; But far away the shield reflected the weapon. Upset Hector, seeing that the spear was useless from his hands flew, He stood and lowered his eyes: he had no other spear. In a resounding voice for help, he calls his brother Deiphobus, Requires a new sharp dart: no Deiphobus. Hector grasped this with his soul, and so he said: “Woe! the almighty gods have called me to death! I thought that my brother, Deiphobus, was not afraid of me; He is within the walls of Ilion: I was seduced by Pallas. There is only Death near me! and I can’t spare me a terrible one! There is no deliverance! So, no doubt, the gods judged, Zeus and Phoebus born of Zeus; merciful before I was often rescued; fate finally befalls! But I will not perish without work, I will not fall into dust without glory; I will do something great that the descendants will hear! " So he said - and pulled out a sophisticated knife from the sheath, Hanging from the left side, a knife and huge and heavy; From a place, tensed, he rushed like an unstable eagle, If he suddenly falls on the steppe because of the gray clouds, A tender lamb or a fearful hare, greedy to steal, - Hector rushed like that, swinging a deadly knife. The swift Pelidus spun, and the spirit of his anger was filled Stormy; he put his magnificent shield in front of his chest, Wonderfully decorated; the helmet on the head is quadruple The light one is fading, the lush golden mane is agitated, Densely spilled by Hephaestus around the high ridge. But like a star between the stars shines in the gloom of the night, Hesperus, who is the fairest and brightest in the sky, So Pelida's sophisticated spear sparkled, with which Ѣ Δ In his right hand, he shook, intending life on Hector, Looking for beautiful places on the body for sure blows. But the hero's whole body was covered with copper-bound armor, The magnificent one, which he stole, defeating the power of Patroclus. There only, where the keys with the ramen are tied, the larynx Ѣ A part was laid bare, a place where the death of the soul is inevitable: There, flying, Achilles struck Priamides with a spear; A deadly string passed right through the white neck; Only his larynx was not cut by a crushing ash Just so that the dying man could say a few words; He burst into the dust, - and Achilles cried out loudly, triumphant: “Hector, you killed Patroclus - and thought to stay alive! You were not afraid of me either when I retired from battles, Reckless enemy! But his avenger, incomparably strongest, Rather than you, I stayed behind the Achaean courts, I, and your knees who have crushed! You for shame Birds and dogs will tear him apart, and the Argives will bury him. " Breathing languidly, the shimmering Hector answered him: “I conjure you and your family at your feet. ABOUT! do not let me be tormented by the dogs of Myrmidon; Copper, precious gold, as much as you desire, demand; Father and venerable mother will send you redemption; Only return the body to the house, so that Trojans and Trojans, Paying the last honor, they introduced the fire in the house ”. The swift-footed Achilles said gloomily looking at him: “In vain, you dog, hug my legs and pray with my relatives! I myself, if I would listen to anger, would tear you to pieces, I would have devoured your raw body - then you did it for me! No, the human son will not drive away from your head Devouring dogs! If both ten and twenty times to me Magnificent gifts will be brought and they promise so much more; If you are ordered to be weighed for gold King Priam of Ilion, and then - on the funeral bed Mother Hecuba will not mourn you for her birth; The birds and the dogs of Myrmidon will tear your corpse to pieces! " Ѣ Emitting a spirit, the shining Hector announced to him: “I knew you; I had a presentiment that by my prayer you You will not be touched: you have an iron heart in your chest. But tremble, may I not be God's wrath for you On that day, when Alexander and Phoebus are arrowheads, No matter how powerful, you will be overthrown at the Skean Gate! " So the speaker, Hector grim Death overshadows: Quietly, the soul, flowing out of its mouth, descends to Hades, Crying for his lot, leaving both youth and strength.

Thanks for this, and great job, but just a suggestion Consider from the Aethiopis or "Little Iliad" the battle between Achilles vs Memnon, Memnon was Ethiopian and son of the Goddess of the Dawn and thus, like Achilles half immortal himself ..This story occurs after Hector is killed and is documented in the work I list above. After Hector falls, The Trojans enlist help from two distinct sources, Memnon the African, who tests Achilles far greater than Hector did, and Penthisilea, the Amazon Queen, who Achilles falls in love with after taking her helmet off after killing her. In fact, another Greek chides Achilles for this and in turn is killed. The battle between Achilles and Memnon goes on for half the day if Im remembered correctly but eventually Achilles prevails Great stuffhuh?! We are finding out more and more that so called "Myth" and legend often if not usually has a basis in "fact" Cheers !

No, no, no, no. Homer was showing us how a man lives and dies....in this, he developed a theme that was at variance with several poetic lays he could have chosen: in one, Hektor is a giant who kills Patroclus but in doing so is wounded and it is because of this wound that Achilles is able to kill him....in other accounts, Patroclus is actually the older man, and Achilles the younger...Achilles is the ultimate demigod and Hektor is the ultimate human....which is why in the Middle Ages, when artists depicted the 'nine worthies' (three Jews, three pagans, and three christians), Hektor and not Achilles is one of the three pagans....

Hector faced Achilles a few times I think. Not just in Illiad but also at the siege of Trojan beach, first battle before Scaea gate when he repulsed the Greece, tried to save Troillus together with Deiphobus and Aeneas, 3 of them fought Achilles that was using Troilus body as his weapon and then he leave without any scars at all, and many skirmirshes Hector fought Achilles, including the moment he almost ambushed abd slain both Ajax the Great and Achilles with his troops had it not goddess Athena warned them about Hector ambush during their played games etc. So Hector knows well the Achilles abilities in combat. That is far superior in one on one combat yet in battlefield the outcome might differs since Hector better than Achilles in tactic. The Greece survived and become vuctorious more to the contribution of the wisdom of Nestor, the experience and warfare knowledge of Diomede in whom the most experience king of all the Greece nobles and the cunningness and wit of Oddyseus. Achilles prowers bested to remove any Trojans that dared to faced him

I can't believe there are fools in the comments section arguing about the historical accurately of a story that was passed down word of mouth, that was turned to a poem passed down for generations before it was actually written. Not one Scholar, Anthropologist, or Archeologist in history has discovered any evidence that most of these events have even happened. People simply complain about anything in their sad little lives.

Very well made! The armour of Achilles was very nicely depicted as it should be. My only arguments are: 1) In the course of action they became too much covered up with blood. That amount of blood suggest a very big and deep wound. 2) The original fight went from spears to swords fight. 3) Achilles didn’t decapitated Hector. The wound was at his neck taking him a few moments to die.
