@mic of orion - To be fair, whilst it was a fucking downright heinous crime and I hope the cretin pays dearly, it has nothing to do with racism. The term "racist" is being bandied about way too much these days, and it's causing sheer confusion to the point that when something genuinely racist actually happens; some people are unsure whether it is or is not racist. Let's not create that confusion, because identifying genuine racism is as important as identifying hate crimes against a particular religious belief. Distinguishing between the former and latter gives us a clearer platform to move forward on, rather than a murky set of buzz words. It was a hate crime against Muslims, and it was absolutely abhorrent.

shorelineboy The reason you didn't see it anywhere else is because it's a pointless story to report. Hundreds of acid attacks occur, they only report on this one because a Muslim man was the victim to further promote the liberal agenda and try to demonise white British. It's bad what happened but what he said is rubbish. It's most likely nothing todo with religion and it wouldn't be reported as a 'terror' attack if an Asian did it to a white man, terror attacks are reported if there is mass casualties or injuries and is actually a terror attack.

@corbinstack4 жыл бұрын
@s ahmed Ahhhh, now we are getting somewhere. Great points and I will accept that "my" ancestors had a hand in that. What is interesting is how you skipped over the part about the English Royal Family creating the Saudi Kings and their Oil Empire to create havoc and destruction in the middle east. Ignore their hand in creating the stunning Wahhabism, that has been the cause of many terror related incidents globally. And of course, you only reach so far back into history to ignore the Arabic/Islamic Slave Trade that ravaged Europe for many centuries. Better yet, the fact that you are able to type your hate online is due to the advances of the WESTERN world. We created modern medicine, technology and that very education that you claimed earlier was so important. Yeah, it's only the negative things that are important to you, all the while ignoring the MOUNTAINS of good things white people have done for the world. Now we can go back and forth on all these issues, but what I find interesting is how you foisted your bigotry onto me without evening knowing my race, religion or gender. You are so caught up in your own racism and hatred, that you just want me to be the very definition of your boogey man. Nice work. Keep on going though, because the more people like you open your mouth, the more we will learn your true motives.

This particular acid attack was motivated out of jealousy, rather than racial hatred. If it was racial hatred then why would he target only very attractive people. I would suggest that he saw the couple and deeply envied them. I would suggest that his motive was primarily jealousy, rather than racial hatred - the same motive that causes a perp to throw acid over a driver to steal his motorcycle - he wants something he can't have. Police statistics for 2017 show that of the 468 acid attacks over the last year, only 22 have been categorised as hate crimes. That's 4% of the total. And even with that 4%, jealousy and envy is a key factor. The remaining 96% of the attacks were committed either during a robbery or during gang on gang violence. And in fact most of the robbery incidences are by gang members who have been using acid against other gangs, and the habit has spilled over into use against the public. Think about it for one moment. An ordinary person does not go out and buy acid to throw at another person. But a gang member would. I would suggest that ALL acid attackers are either gang members or very closely associated with other gang members. But there is a further problem. Criminals boast about the effectiveness of acid at making the victim powerless - and how it is an effective means to get what they want. And even when they are caught they get only short sentences - measured in months. All this sends out a powerful message to the impressionable teenage youth that live in the same community as these gangs. It sends out a message that they could do the same. Young children as young as 10 years old have started using acid as a weapon to attack others. In fact the age range for nearly all acid attackers is 10-19 years old. Children copy and emulate their older peers, not least because they know that they are too young to be prosecuted. I work as a motorcycle courier, and delivering to some estates in London, I have found groups of young people aged 15-ish planning and executing ambushes on drivers. I escaped from one such ambush where a woman placed an order for food to be delivered to an address. When I arrived, the address did not exist. I rang her mobile and she directed me to the 24th floor of a tower block. On my way to the lift, I noticed a group of youths on the walkway above me, tracking my movements. One seemed to be carrying a shiny blade. As I approached the elevator, they moved to intercept it on the first floor. At the last moment I aborted the delivery, and ran to my bike. They pursued me but I escaped. Had I gotten into the lift, it would have stopped at the first floor, the doors would have opened, and 8 youths would have pushed inside - all carrying blades. I wouldn't have stood a chance in hell. 2 days later, another driver was attacked by the same gang, and his bike stollen. It is only a small step for these kids to start using a bit of drain cleaner, especially when their older peers are successfully robbing scooters at a rate of 50 a week.

English people are white. English is an ethnicity, British is a nationality.

No. Both are countries. Ethnicity refers to race. English is NOT a race nor and ethnicity.

The government needs to hand out life sentence to people who are using acid as a weapon. The age of the attackers should not matter. The British justice system needs to get tough on criminals, no matter what age or what race or religion they come from. If they dont, then it will just get worse.

How is this not considered an act of terrorism? Multiple people attacked using illegal and violent weapons in the name of instilling fear and terror in a race or religious group.

I am so shocked after seeing this video. How can people do this? Laws should change for acid providing. Any freak can commit a crime like this. My thoughts are with you, Jameel and Resham.

There is no more heinous and evil act than the acid attack. The guilty ones should be executed.
