Acid etching is a dental procedure that can help with the placement of composite restorative material or any other resin Restoration. Acid Etch is a very important topic from Dental Materials and Operative Dentistry. Its usually done by 37% Phosphoric acid. It's an important step in the Dentin bonding agents section. Yes. There is a famous question where it says in very deep cavities ine should apply calcium hydroxide and then etch for composite and for amalgam, proper base before it. Its only applied in deepest portion where the dentin is too thin. Rest all area is available for bonding agent
