I used to suffer from acute gastritis for several years. I tried all medical resources available in the USA but was never healed. I transitioned to a totally vegan diet in 1998 and could not realize how and when my gastritis totally disappeared forever in possibly a few months after the new diet. The answer to why animal foods are inflammatory has to do with the fact that arachidonic acid is found in high concentration in animal foods, but not in plant foods. Arachidonic acid is one of the main components of prostaglandins, a major mediator of inflammation. That's how non steroidal anti inflammatory meds work, by blocking the formation of prostatglandins.

Yes, but you're better off being more alkaline. Acid-producing foods leave a residue sometimes known as 'acid ash' which disturbs the ph balance. Unless you're prone to stones or take useless colloidal minerals, you probably won't overload on alkalinity. If you look at cultures worldwide it will be apparent that the more grown product eating, the healthier the population. So, yes, you're far better off being vegan or vegetarian. I make cold brew coffee-it needs to be diluted with water because it makes a concentrated mix. I use a paper filter to help remove some of the oils from the coffee too. Cold brewing reduces the acidity by 50%. I also used to use alkaline water to cold brew and dilute when I had issues with silent reflux. Make sure you cold brew in the fridge if using alkaline water. People usually brew 12-20 hours when cold brewing. Regular cold brew lasts 2 weeks in the fridge before diluting, but I’m not sure about it being made with alkaline water. I originally did it because I was diagnosed with interstitial cystitis and was buying really expensive low acid coffee and found out you could get the same result with cold brewing. I still heat up my cold brew for hot coffee. The term “cold brew” refers to the method of brewing, you don’t have to drink it cold.

@@ima7333 Vinegars are most certainly not alkaline for the body. Vinegars are acidic bcs of the acetic acid, yes. Doesn't matter how it's fermented. They are all as bad. They draw calcium from teeth and bones and they force the stomach glands to empty out all their content to buffer the acetic acid. That can temporarily feel like it's helping the digestion bcs of all of the digestive fluids that are expelled from the glands. But that is extremely taxing for the stomach glands and their ability to manufacture sufficient amounts of digestive fluids are impaired, meaning the digestion gets impaired. The stomach loses the ability to properly kill off pathogens and digest foods. There's really NOTHING good about vinegars. Source : Anthony William, aka the Medical Medium. Plants live within a spectrum of toxicity. I’d love to see the results after a balanced carnivore or ketogenic diet. A typical American diet is absolutely terrible.
@davycrockett88863 жыл бұрын
Protein is made up of amino acids; a ketogenic or carnivore diet should therefore have more acidity. It may be less acidic than a typical American diet for some bizarre reason, but I highly doubt it. More research would be interesting.

'Slightly' on the acidic side? The word 'slightly' used over and over again is misleading. Grains, Nuts, Beans, Caffeine, Alcohol, Processed food, Chemicals, Irradiated food, Sugar, Oils, Yeast, Tobacco are serious culprits to varying degrees. You just can't say everything is 'slightly on the acidic side' Of course, dairy and meat are the worst but the aforementioned are very significantly acid forming as well to varying degrees! In all due respect Dr. Kahleova omits a lot of relative information and is underplaying the other slightly to 'very' acid forming foods which wreak havoc on the body. I'm vegan for 40 years and although not a doctor I've spent 40 years studying this :) 80% of one's diet should be 'Alkaline' (Fruits and Vegetables, emphasis on raw veg), and 20% Acid is acceptable. My 2 c. The information here is very shallow and incomplete.

How are you going to get enough calories if you eat 80% fruits and vegetables and most of that vegetables? That's a calorie deficient diet.
@dj-fe4ck3 жыл бұрын
The diet needs to be 50-80% grains, legumes, starchy vegetables, or fruit. If you want to be fully raw, then probably at least 80% fruit.

The only problem I have with the vegan diet is, the must have pharmaceutical supplements to make it healthily complete. I prefer vegetarianism as a result. Veganism is not seemingly complete nutrition as it stands. So may be wrong I'm thinking. Any world crash that destroys all pharmaceutical synthetic supplements, will damage, maybe to death, present veganism. My fear. Any comments?

Like she said this is only one consideration not the only and be careful with that bread subject matter because there’s a lot of bad things in Bread that shouldn’t be if it has no color it has new nutrition but you do not want any kind of wheat whatsoever unless it’s organic and even then the body recognizes it as foreign matter and immediately ignites your immune system these things are not good for you and they also convert to sugar so when she talks about sugar being slightly alkaline or I’m leaning more towards the alkaline what it does causes acidosis so anything that converts to sugar in the body like alcohol bread pasta cakes sugar itself starches Or starchy foods you need to be cautious with him chocolate etc. especially if it’s commercial if it’s dark chocolate it’s rich in minerals therefore much better of a choice but a lot of people are trying to get away from what doesn’t taste good which means doesn’t taste sweet and that’s where the problem is because sugars the new crack There is an ancient variety of wheat which is as nature intended it and it is not harmful to the body but it does not contain the amount of gluten that the others do so you might not enjoy it as much because well it’s not feeding the candida which for those who don’t know, is the yeast infection in the body And it usually becomes systemic so now you’re feeding cancer mutating cells that are going to become cancerous and then you’re going to wonder why what are you drink what you eat what you think how you feel who are you hang out with what job you do and how that makes you feel all contribute to your well-being or the lack there of and those things can also cause acidosis so if we’re talking about pH balance you have to take into consideration that your whole being not just a physical or a mental or an emotional or a spiritual you’re all of those things and every part of you needs to be Cared for properly Let’s not forget about coffee which is highly acidic and will make a person lean towards acidosis never mind all of these sugar-free shit storms that have aspartame and other unnatural sweetening products in them but they swear that there’s 0 cal and there’s zero sugar when in fact it’s worse than sugar causing tumors alcohol is another big one You can generally feel when somethings not good for you and you’re starting to feel lethargic or drained you’ll start to feel hot like your body is fighting whatever it is that’s going on inside that war is you shoving stuff in your mouth because well it’s visually appealing or it appeals to your Tastebuds but there is a price for that Of course dairy is the worst thing because it contains everything that’s in the animal products and maybe even worse because we’ve got now infection which is the post that the FDA allows and we also have the contact of blood which some people think they’re cooking out when they actually cooked a slice of dead animal and that isn’t what’s happening there consuming all of that but they’re consuming all the other bodies meaning the mental the emotional and spiritual as well as the physical of these animals and so when people are feeling depressed and they’re feeling suicidal or they’re feeling this terrible emptiness a sense of hopelessness it is everything They have consumed without their knowledge so yes please for the love of God who loves all creatures both great and small not just humans, go vegan

a ham and cheese sandwich is not real food. this is processed carbs, on top of process meat, on top of processed cheese. NONE OF that is a true comparison with a meat vs vegetable diet this is flawed and completely not done right
@kyledan94053 жыл бұрын
it really doesn't matter. all that matters in the study was the acid load, and since ham and cheese and the bread have big acid load, that's why they decided to put them in context. it's not like 10 vegans got together and tried to shame keto and carnivores. it's just scientists and facts.

Bread is a million times healthier than ham and cheese. You just want a bread with no preservatives, chemical additives, or other bad ingredients. The only ingredients should be wheat or rye flour, water, and salt, and yeast if it's not a sourdough bread. If it says anything else, don't eat it
@rtype13093 жыл бұрын
@@dj-fe4ck I agree Ham is cheese is complete garbage. But I think the bread is too. If I can't find bread growing in nature on a tree our from a plant, I won't eat it. I'll eat the things I naturally see, can grow or kill myself. If it doesn't look like it grows in nature, then I'm not eating that So bread is out, processes Ham and Cheese is out. A piece of meat and some veggies is in.
