This video was super helpful in helping me prepare me for my interviews and I received an offer from three of them. Will be joining City this September. I was asked the following questions (across all the universities I interviewed for) 1. Why Counselling Psychology and why now. What do you know about Counselling Psychology ? 2. Where do you sit yourself with social justice / What do you think about equality and diversity (I’d suggest reading about cultural differences and how important these issues are in therapy) 3. Have you ever accessed Personal therapy? What do you feel are some issues you would like to address in therapy 4. Tell us about your clinical and research experience 5. What are some ethical considerations in your research proposal? 6 what does professionalism mean to you I hope someone finds them helpful. I’ve interviewed for Roehampton, City, Glasgow and Bristol :)

Hello Fraser Thank you for a great video. I have a BA Hons in English Literature, a Postgraduate Certificate in Education. I'm about to begin a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and hopefully gain registration with BACP. What would be my best route to becoming a counselling psychologist? Could I do a Psych master's conversion ( BPS Accredited) and then a doctorate? Found what I love doing late in life!

Hi, thank for so much for the info! I saw many doctorates require some relevant working experience such as AP or mental health support worker. On average (or from your own observation) how many years of working experience should a candidate have before he or she will be considered?

Could you do a video on counseling psychology PsYD programs ? Meaning how to find them and apply. I live in California and counseling psych PsyD programs are really rare in the US. It’s mostly clinical psychology programs now but I’m interested in the counseling psychology ones. Thank-you!

Hi! You can just google counselling psychology doctorate in UK/London and they will come up. Make sure they are PBS accredited and give you HCPC registration at the end.
