The writers were so untrue to Luke's categorization of his and Laura's love and life together or is he just a liar in denial?

Given how he is with Laura in these scenes, it seems like its portrayed as the latter. Being smug and dismissive w/ Tracy is easier for him (and also for her) but the truth is clearly more complicated.

That said, I also think (my opinion) some of this was to appease Tony since he supposedly had issues with Wendy Riche in the 90s (which is insane given that was the show's most acclaimed decade).

Rosalind Cash had to be written out at the end of 1995 (I think bc of a cancer dx) and tragically died shortly after. And here they simply killed Justus off like all the other Qs.
