he's so right about doing it for the love of drawing. everytime I put my self worth or approval of others on the line with a piece it ends up with me being discouraged. gotta remember this!!

I really love what Archipel's doing. it's unique and polished. from the camera work, the music and the questions to the pace. every episode is a break from the madness of current life and a pleasant trip into the mind of a creator. creativity is severely lacking these days so it's wonderful to see it still exists.

I've come across some of his work lately, it really looks cool, i actually tough of Terada sensei's work when i saw it, he definitly influenced him in his drawing philosophy. I'm really happy with this episode, i always come back to this channel in hope of such a gem. Thank you to all participants, it's great!

Nice videowork as always. In my opinion, the moment of 1:52 , his inspiration Terada Katsuya and himself in same place was such a thrilling to me. At 7:20 we can enjoy two artists’ drawing at a same time and get our own inspiration. And i totally agree that just filling an empty paper with my single pen is fun and gives me freedom

Whenever i watch these artists draw, i always feel like like us westerns are missing a point. Something more akin to personal growth and imaginative: i want to build a visual library sych so i could draw this way, but I always understimate me (probably in a good way), yet that desire burns.
@thatoneperson80422 жыл бұрын
I feel this. Part of me feels like us (in the west) put too many labels into what defines "proper art" via arguments such as traditional is better than digital, the argument over using certain tools or refs as cheating, the right and or wrong way to draw (excluding fundamentals), etc. We forget that art is about experimentation and the joy of bringing our creativity to light via a multitude of methods and means. I'm not saying there are no rules to art, but we at times constrain ourselves too much due to the subjugation we have seen invoked onto others or the comments we have gotten ourselves. These cause us to inadvertently squeeze out our desire to be more curious, experimental, and as a result creative. At least that's my take. Idk. This all becomes more nuanced when you gotta deal with company work, commissions, etc.

Let your ego die and draw what _you_ like. Your courage will eventually inspire others and that alone (whatever your style is) will make people feel attracted to your art :)

Thank you so much for all the high quality documentaries, they're always the highlight of my week. There's few other places where you can find contemporary artists speaking this candidly about their methodology and journey, and these insights are invaluable for people like me who also work in the illustration industry in far away places like latin america. Listening to their perspective on art from a different cultural lenses from mine is incredibly enriching. Really excited to see which artist will be featured next!! Thank you for your hard work.

This is cool. Thanks! I'm interested in how he started his business and how he developed relationships with his team. How'd he support himself monetarily before his art took off. Does his art alone cover his personal and business life before , during, and after April 2020? The transition from a kid drawing pictures to an adult business owner with no side jobs is the most interesting thing to me. I wish I knew these things from most of the successful artists out there to better help myself understand what I may need to do outside of just drawing really cool things. Unless just drawing really cool things is exactly how the successful artist got success with no financial support ever. That'd be interesting to learn too. I think that transition from kid with no responsibilities to a self made artist/ business owner and all the personal and business transactions that took place would really help me and many other artists struggling out there. I love these videos and happy to learn about Tetsuya here. Thanks again! ✌
