When I did observations I observed 2nd grade in the fall at the end of October I taught the students about day of the dead. One student said he celebrated it in Texas when he used to celebrate it.

I love the tradition of learning about winter holidays around the world. As a Hindu, schools never celebrated Diwali, and I was so surprised and honored to see Diwali listed on your worksheet that is sent home. I love that you are exposing your students two cultures!

Put the tree up in the classroom on Friday, I always let the kids decorate it the way they want. We also put the lights up. Starting the Secret Santa activity on Monday which will end on the 21st when we break off for the winter holidays
