Acolyte Season 1 Review

Review and wrap-up of The Acolyte Season 1. I was falling behind on the episode breakdowns so decided to do an overview of the entire season with an emphasis on the latter half of this trainwreck.

Couldn't agree more, these franchises are nothing more than corporate skinsuits. Broadly, there are elements of this show that could be interesting but the execution looks beyond woeful. Everyone likes the idea of diversity, of equal opportunity. At this point giving a shot to a showrunner who actually knows what a Tie Interceptor and/or the Hero's Journey are would be the truly diverse choice.

Absolutely right. It's shifted so far in one direction that returning to an actually knowledgeable showrunner would be the bold and brave strategy now.

Please, PLEASE, as someone who also loves Star Wars and hates what Disney has done with it, I beg you, PLEASE watch Andor. It's not just good Star Wars, it's a great overall show. Also, do a review. Trust me, you'll love it.

I think I'll do just that. I've heard a lot of good things about it, it just came out after a slew of awful movies/shows, so I was a bit dispirited at the time.

The thing that worries me... is that when I see these reviews, I see "The Acolyte season 1 review "... and to me that means there will be a season 2... We all know Kathleen Kennedy's version of Star Wars... she won't admit failure. She would rather double down and hope the next thing will be a success. I can picture her cramming lore destroying cameos and even something as blasphemous as Grogu's mothers being introduced because Leslie Headland made Yoda's species a transgender species able to change genders at will... in the next season of the Acolyte... until the original version of George Lucas' cherished Star Wars is destroyed. I hope this madness ends at this abomination. Also Disney can take a lesson from Deadpool 3... if they give the fans what they want and no agenda driven messages... money will flow in so much that the shareholders at Disney won't know what to do with...

You'll be as happy as I am to hear that season 2 was canceled, then. But I'm with you when it comes to KK. If only they'd learn... it seems so easy. Here's hoping!
