There is something very brilliantly ironic that this, an interview to promote Acorn Antiques The Musical, is like the Acorn Antiques of tv interviews - it’s like Victoria wrote it all 😂😂😂

Victoria was a talented writer/composer/ director and a great loss to the profession. Celia and Julie are brilliant actors who can play ...anything. and have. Bless you all.

This interview is so disrespectful. Des and Mel obviously did no research. God, they shouldn't need to either, Victoria Wood was comedy genius. Made me really angry that they were so disrespectful. No wonder the show got axed. Terrible! RIP Victoria. Such a shame you were taken so soon.

Isn't he just. No research ?. Thank god they finished this garbage. Mel is cringe worthy too.

Quite possibly the worst interview I've ever seen, especially the Victoria and Celia part . Des and Mel are clueless and obviously knew nothing about their subjects. Shocking really.

Des & Mel were clearly poorly briefed by their researchers (In TV guests are given a pre-interview by researchers in advance and they make notes for the hosts). Luckily Julie is a natural guest and saves the second interview.

Seeing Des 'interview' in other clips on YT he was never a great host, imo.

That sauna sketch wasn't even from Wood and Walters, it was another As Seen on TV. Imagine not even knowing her surname though!

Awful when they asked if she'd had a scare for Breast Cancer - why would you even ask anyone that live on TV? Worse still, 10 years later, she's dead from Cancer. Such a void in English, Northern humour.

Victoria so gifted as a musician ,writer, actor ,stand up ,brilliant, Celia one Britains best actors , Des O'Connor unfunny comedian who somehow got away with it for years , not even a good interviewer , Victoria died much too soon but he survives.

Interesting that they touch on Victoria being tough. In Victoria's authorised biography 'Let's do it' a number of people, including Anne Reid, Dawn French, Thelma Barlow, Ceilia Imre and Julie Walters attested to how difficult Victoria could be to work with and indeed (at times) socially difficult too.

Scary they mentioned Vic's cancer in 2005. I wonder if she really did have a scare then and it came back in 2015/16?

Absolute cringe interview, how it lasted 2 series, I’ll never know, ill prepared, badly executed interview, clearly Victoria didn’t want to take about her cancer scare.and it showed, and well done to Celia, helping to swerve that

Des O'Connor is like Jiminy Glick. Completely unprepared for the interview and really no idea of who he is interviewing. I like how well the cast manage him and his ego.

Well, with jiminy glick it’s actually meant to be like that, because it’s just Martin short playing pranks. But des is just soooo painful to watch.

@@myrthemarie1049 Thanks Myrthe. Yes, Jiminy Glick is a fictional character created by Martin Short to rip into unprepared egotistical entertainment reporters. You so so right. Des is painful to watch. One of those situations where someone gets so famous that they don't feel they have to do an inch of work anymore. They think people love them so much they will always be forgiven for their laziness and stop thinking they need to meet any professional standard. Martin Short is a genius for wrapping that whole bundle into Jiminy. He must have be interviewed by a thousand inept reporters before landing on that character.

Dear me. So glad I never watched this ghastly programme when it was on tv. What a total load of old poo they made of the interview. Lucky they had such good guests!!

Asking someone about a cancer scare on national television? What would go through your head as to ask such a thing? This interview is really bad. The only thing good about it are the guests.

I like Des but he is coming across as an ignorant fool in this interview. He doesn't know people's names, he doesn't know what people do. You can tell Vic and Celia are a bit *ffs* - they're strong to keep so collected!
