With TS3 pets, you can also play AS THE ANIMAL, which I miss SO much in TS4! I used to love exploring as my cat (lol) and I'd have them look for stuff, make friends, gains skills, ugh it was so much more interesting than with the new version.

Like I remember in Sims 2 the dogs I've created started lagging and didn't eat their food but instead were eating garbage and threw up after that. I got SO terrified I've deleted the whole save file. And that is with the fact that unlike in Sims 1, animals didn't die of starvation in Sims 2, it still traumatized me lmao.

Yup! I've only watched my friend play sims 4 and damn it looks boring. Sims 3 is amazing, yeah it's laggy but just get the right mods and you have a stunner of a game!!

The whole campus is dead, with like only a handful of Sims wandering around. Hell, my university is teeming with people even during the summer holiday. Screw that, I'm out. Sims 3, here I come."

I love the open world, as a non-family-simmer (single-simmer?). I'd imagine that family-simmers like Sims 4 as being enclosed in a box doesn't matter as much for them?

@@squares4u Definitely not. Sims 3 with expansion packs beats almost all aspects of the sims 2. I almost always stayed home in the sims 2 because of loading screens and hated that the time didn’t pass when you returned to your lot as well as the annoyingly short dramatic age spans and the way that every personality is randomised based on the zodiac sign (interests, the specific aspiration of a lifetime wish) and I had to cheat to customise my sims personality every time and waste a ton of time prepping the game. In the sims 3 I was finally able to customise life spans, enjoy the world and play rotational game play way better (with the open world, more premade families and better sims overall).

@@another_day4783 Yeah. Me too. That was the only expansion pack lacking. I wanted that expansion pack to open the rabbit holes and connect with the unique real estate investment system Sims 3 had. It would have been incredible, especially in an open world.

I'm replaying the Sims 3 after 10 years, I genuinely am stunned at how much more fun it is than 4! Absolutely loving it, I have Ambitions, University, Generations, Seasons and Pets - each expansion almost has the same content as vanilla Sims 4, mind blowing how we've let them get away with the shocking lack of content in 4 and it's DLCs

I've recently gone back to the Sims 3 after just getting tired of the Sims 4 gameplay. I'm currently adding some mods but I'm already much happier with Sims 3 vs. Sims 4. I got so tired of the Sims 4 releasing disappointing expansions, game, and stuff packs, I just wanted to go back to the good old days where you actually got your bang for your buck with every expansion with the Sims 3. I'm excited for High School for Sims 4 though!

I love the sims 3. You can get all the DLCs for dirt cheap on instant gaming. If anything just get late night and ambitions and watch the hours melt away. Amazing gameplay. So much fun. I just wish my sim wouldn’t want to sleep so much

I remember being a kid and watching LifeSimmer like 24/7 and she got me hooked to sims 3 and I remember I begged my uncle to buy it for me and he got me this 3 for 1 bundle thing plus 2 expansion packs. I know it was base game, late night, and a stuff pack for the bundle (I forget which stuff pack) and then for the 2 extra expansions I got supernatural and university which were my FAVORITE. I would always like make like werewolf or vampire twin sisters (would name them after me and my bestfriend) and then I would have them go to school. I was obsessed with monster high which was my influence to get those two expansion packs

Haha, I actually love WA. I love the nectar-making, I like occasionally sending my sims on little family vacations to get away from it all. It adds a bunch of new collectibles which I'm always about. And I just save the majority of the tomb raiding for if I get a particularly adventurous sim. It's generally a must-have for me. Also I was talking to my BF the other day about TS3 packs vs TS4. My biggest example was Supernatural. Supernatural gave us Vampires(or upgraded them if you had Late Night), Werewolves, Witches, Fairies, and just so much content? So far in TS4 you can get Vampires, Witches, and Werewolves, all in separate packs. In several packs they don't even give us what one pack did in TS3. So mad I wasted so much money on that game, always hoping the next pack would somehow make it better.

Supernatural along with mods to further expand upon each life state is *so* fun. That and Late Night + Generations are probably my favorites. But in general, it’s crazy the amount of content each expansion pack gives the player 0,0 I don’t really have a favorite stuff pack since I don’t pay enough attention into what each one provides, though Town Life and Diesel are pretty nice. Also, a lot of people don’t realize that the Katy Perry pack actually isn’t sold anymore 😹 The only way to get it is by buying the disc off of someone or pirating it - which is for the best

the way I can’t really hate any of sims3 packs 😭 every single one have a core memory for…like generations I remember being with a friend when she’s bought and we went to her house anda play together or late night that was my first expansion pack 🥺 I have so much love for this game… I think the only EP that I don’t really enjoy in any sims game is probably pets, I get so overwhelmed playing if pets and yeah… the lag kinda sucks too

I was going through and downloading all the Sims 3 store content for free and they have loads of Dr. Pepper, Plants Vs. Zombies, a Ford Fiesta in game, they have like 7 different types of Toyota Prius, it's so bizarre to see in game

I’m glad to find out there are still people that play Sims 3. And that you only play that, that gets a sub. When 4 was announced then released I was against it because I had spent so much money on 3, all the expansions, some of the stuff packs, and maybe too much store content lol. I felt like I had just bought whatever the last release was when 4 was announced, it just seemed like a giant waste of money. I eventually downloaded the free CAS demo and had to admit it was pretty good. But when I decided to buy the game it kept glitching with authorizing my card. (It would charge and refund the rest amounts to check my account, but then after when go to finish buying it it would go through the authorization process again.) I gave up like “screw it, I didn’t want the stupid game anyway” lol. Years later when I got my new gaming computer, and Origin fixed their store/launcher I was finally able to get it. But just never got into it. It really felt like starting from scratch. Sure the graphics are miles better and building is (for the most part) better, but I was just missing everything I had previously from 3. So I stopped playing and transferred Sims 3 onto my computer. I’ve been watching some Sims 4 KZbinrs and stupid stuff would happen and weird glitches and general frustration and it made me realize just how much better 3 was. I was right to be apprehensive about Sims 4 lol.

I love sims 3 supernatural but I hate when it’s a full moon and werewolves that isn’t apart of your family will turn and stay as a werewolf basically all the time, it’s kinda annoying because they won’t age up when they are in the wolf form. I adore werewolves in the sims but that’s just one of the things I find annoying about them but all in all that is one of if not my favorite expansion in the sims 3

Hearing you talk about Island Paradise and thinking about Sims 4 reminds me of why I appreciate The Sims 3 so much. They stuffed a lot in most of those EPs, and yeah it was ambitious considering the foundation but I appreciate them trying to do the most than doing the least on a still faulty foundation. If they ever create a solid and stable foundation for a future Sims game I hope we see ambitious packs that are filled with content and even more detail and depth. Also, I think Season and Pets should be base game content. I know some people complain that they don't want it in their game but options exist. I say make it optional to cut those features off. I would even, and gladly so, pay extra for a base game with Pets and Seasons in it from the start. For a great and well made base game or pack, I don't mind, but it has to be done well.

I’m a bit confused. I’ve been playing the sims 3 for a while with four packs, and recently, all of my sessions are made sort by bugs. Like, my sim refuses to go to work. Npc’s glitch out and any sim that moves in I can’t control and she won’t do anything herself I have the packs pets, generations, seasons and world adventured. IKEA Stuff was easily the best of the TS2 Stuff Packs. Pretty much every single family I played ended up using it, especially early on. Then again, I like the angular simplicity of IKEA designs in my real life, too. :) edit @27:35 - The "lingerie set" is awesome for Rocky Horror Picture Show fans. :0 Personal favorites I could never play without: Supernatural, Ambitions and, even though it's 99% background stuff that should have been in the base game, Generations.

Did you get the game legit from Origin or did you buy a key from another website?

@@michellel9595 Yep. I had this happen with my University code I bought off Ebay. Some codes are flagged as counterfeit or being sold for a profit by resellers. It has nothing to do with EA, it has everything to do where the reseller sourced the keys.

It is so odd hearing you talk about growing up with Sims 3, when I remember it coming out when I was in my 20's hehe! I have been playing basegame Sims 3 and Supernatural for a while and was wondering if I should buy Ambitions, this video made the decision for me, it looks so much fun. I do feel like the packs get worse with every expansion, but that might be the nostalgia talking. Sims 2 had gameplay-changing expansion packs, then the Sims 3 did that all over again but added some shitty things, and now the Sims 4 seems to take gameplay out of the basegame so they can ask 60 euros for it later as a pack... I just wish they would keep good expansion packs and integrate them into the next basegame immediately, and then add actually new stuff. Ambitions seems actually new, so I'm definitely gonna buy that :D

Here's my thoughts on some of these packs: I do not like the Diesel pack. I don't like the appearance of the stuff it adds and the fact that you can't use create a style on most of it just adds insult to injury for me. High-End Loft on the other hand? Love it! I use that stuff constantly, both clothing and furniture. I just love the slightly futuristic look of it all. Ambitions.. watching this I realise that I've done very little with that pack compared to what it offers and I should really fix that. I had forgot that some of those careers even existed but they seem really fun. ....Okay, I might buy Master Suite solely for that bathroom set. I love it! Half the reason I bought Seasons was the aliens. Imagine my disappointment when I found out you couldn't make aliens in CAS. Still enjoying the weather though. I agree that Supernaturals is a pack that you either hate or love. Personally I love it, but I generally don't use its features outside of my Moonlight Falls save.

You can play at home in the sims 3 university. One day I download a world on internet and in this world I had the building of university and my sims can go directly I don't remember the name of the world, it's was a long time ago.. Sorry for my english... I hope you understand ☺️

My ranking: ICON: BASE GAME, SEASONS, GENERATIONS, AMBITIONS (incredible for turning any skill into a career and incredible active careers, lots of world lore), ISLAND PARADISE (best and most dynamic world of the Sims franchise - you can literally explore underwater and find islands and be truly entrepreneurial in resorts, so many hours of gameplay in this one, my old laptop could always run this) STUNNING: LATE NIGHT (best downtown world of the franchise, tons of world lore, my second most played world but the townies are a bit wacky, only here because the way the apartments work without neighbours is my least fav of the franchise), PETS (incredible world, love horses and great townies), SUPERNATURAL (incredible occult pack), University (great campus experience but I don’t like how little degrees we have) MEH: World Adventures (just got it), Into the Future (love the astronomy career) DISGUSTING: Showtime (laggiest of all packs for me, forgettable world although the concept was nice, should have come with Late Night) DELETE: Sweet treats

I’ve been thinking about getting a pc for the sole purpose of playing the sims 3 on it I’m planning on playing with Generations, Seasons, Late Night, Ambitions, two stuff packs, and some custom content I was wondering what kind of pc I would need to run everything on max graphics? I don’t know anything about pcs but I have a budget of about $1,000 to spend so if any of you can help it would be much appreciated 😊❤️

Make sure you do a lot of research if you do get a great gaming pc for it, I got a high end gaming laptop and I seriously had to do so much googling and configuring my game because my laptop is so good my game literally would not start!! I did figure it out though. And $1000 will definitely not get you a high end gaming pc, probably just midrange but I would recommend getting a more midrange/inexpensive pc if you're ONLY playing the sims 3. It will run everything easily with no problems when you have a cheaper or older graphics card. And on max settings.

a lot of the steam reviews for island paradise says its absolutely abysmal and crashes the game. does anyone know if this is the case? i really would like mermaids but I don't want to corrupt or destroy my game

I have every expansion pack for the sims 3, right? Yeah my computer storage said no. I don't need all of the expansion anyway, but I die sometimes for supernatural, late night, and pets. I have seasons and master suite installed. I can but I just can't. How can I have custom content but I can install 1 expansion 😭

It's so out of place with the rest of the game's theme(like seeing sims wear sci-fi clothing and having hover cars), it annoyingly pops up like the Mascot at the beginning of every game and worst of all it feels half-baked(new world is ugly no matter the outcome, plumbots while interesting could've been so much more, new career is just a rabbithole... Would've been cool to actually see Plumbots fight D:). I actually like using it on my inventive-eccentric playthroughs, with the narrative that the descendent of the Simbot's creator would go on to make these and populate them in the world... Beyond that though, only reason I keep it on is for the Unstable and Bot Fan traits(for my crazy/nerdy sims).

I enjoyed Into The Future and the functional things it added, but yeah it was a very experimental pack and the reception shows.

For me, I think the most useful function for me that could be used in everyday gameplay is going to hospital with a same sex hospital so you can have a baby with your partner. They merge your genes together and pop out a baby that you don’t have to adopt.

I think during winter you can get every pack for 80 dollars if you don’t already own the base game on steam, not sure about origin tho..

I put Showtime with Ambitions, both have active careers and that's a good thing. Showtime does have Simfests and those are fun things for Sims to go on a date to see or just watch the show. WA I put at the top, doing the adventures is fun but with NRAAS Traveler you can send the whole family on vacation to any world and not do any adventures. Go to Isla Paridiso and the kids enjoy the beach while a parent goes scuba diving and the teen is windsurfing. Make your own world that's all about camping... so many possibilities. Island Paradise is also up there in the top. Supernatural and Uni for me is a nope, didn't buy them never will. Seasons and ITF are both a meh so I don't have them.

the only time i played the expansion into the futur was when i made my sims fall in love with a sims living in Oasis Landing, it was that kind impossible love story, and i really fell in love of the game play it was so fun, im quite sad that its been 9 years since i have it in my game and never give it a change

University I found a bit annoying. There was that thing where you have to go to a class and there are 20 sims at the door, not going in but not letting you in, either. Sims 3 has a bunch of stuff I like, but I do overall find Sims 2 a bit more charming.

Watching this while scrubbing my TS3 game after adding 3 new packs. Edit: Gigi on KZbin has a video about how to scrub (that's what I call it) your game to reduce lag. Essentially, you are tricking your game into thinking the Packs, DLC, and Mods are part of the game. Video is called Mod Free Lag Free something like that.

To be honest I would put showtime and into the future in delete section. I honestly feel EA should done other ideas for expansions. Like farming, more world adventures idk. Showtime is very underwhelming too

wish i could own sims 3 entirely. There are some packs I wouldn't use, like I personally hate high end loft stuff, I have it, because on my old account I had the starter pack. Plus Supernatural...I do wish I could transfer my game, because mt sister made the account when I was in 3rd grade or 4th I'm 19 now, and I still wish I was there. Unfortunately, I haven't got a job yet, but I also don't think I'm ready to handle that. I suppose maybe someday but for now I'm very limited

I have a controversial view on the sims 3 vs sims 4. Like, I love that the sims 3 has so much extra content and the gameplay is way more involved also the sims history and lore that went into the worlds and families. However, having played the sims 4 for so long (since 2017) I struggle so much with the graphics and art style of the sims 3, it’s noticeably dated, and the HUD of the sims 4 is way more user friendly and smoother. Your videos have helped me to kind of remember why I loved the sims 3 so much and I want to give it a try again, thanks for the awesome content!

That more sims on the lot in sims 3 is a lie 😂😂😂 . Grew UP playing sims 1 , 2 , 3 & 4. And the only game that accurately had a lot of sims on the community lots is sims 2 . Lots were dead on sims 3

I remember a video essay I watched in portuguese that talks about Sims 3 AI, and The Sims 3 is the only game that has an AI that sends sims to the community lot your active house can be found, but I think Bridgeport didn't got this because the lounges I send my sims are always empty besides like, one celebrity and two guards

As someone who ONLY played Sims 4 and not Sims 3 in the past, I honestly believe the hype for Sims 3 is pure nostalgia from the people who grew up with it. I wouldn't say it's "boring" but it's not more fun than 4? I'd say they're the same. Yes, 4 SHOULD be better because it's more new. But to me, Sims 3 IS Sims 4 with worse graphics. And you can drive a car with no loading screens lmaooo Other than that, they really feel the same. Everyone says the jobs are better in 3 but I just got Ambitions 2 days ago and it feels the exact same as "Get To Work". They give you tasks, you repeat the tasks. IDK. I feel like people look back at 3 with rose colored glasses. Of course it was the most fun you've ever had, you were 12 with unlimited internet access for the first time in your life. Of course it's gonna be a ball that you remember forever. I had a lot of fun on Club Penguin back then but I'm not gonna say it's more fun than Skyrim now lmaoo

As someone who does play TS4, Batuu is MILES better than the katy perry pack. The cas stuff is mostly unusable, but there's actually some really nice objects that are easy to blend into more antique/industrial builds. I am the last person to defend the sims 4, much less a paid advertisement pack, but it really does put into perspective how awful sweet treats was... I don't think we'll ever recover from that one.
