ITF is better than showtime (both of which are my least 2 favorite packs) 😶 ITF just came with more to do. At least ITF had a really bold personality and came with a lot to do. I feel like showtime was just like "eh, make a singer or something and repeat these stage performances every day that are similar to the other professions and this all you do until you get rich". I wish it came with more to do than just that, or maybe i'm just forgetting. I do miss the photo booth and karaoke machine when I play without showtime though. But ITF at least had a brand new, never done before concept for a world (and 2 variants of it), bots and bot building that required you to find ingredients for trait chips out in the wild, future themed things like hover boards, food synthesizing, sprites, descendants, the whole quest thing in the wastelands, etc. I don't even like sci-fi or the future (i prefer medieval), but for some reason I had more fun doing the ITF activities more than showtime

Sims 3 is always left out of comparisons and I personally think it's the best by far. Also agreed that I like the Sims themselves just fine. I don't know why they call them potato Sims, they look more like people than the cartoony Sims 2 and 4 to me. Even if the lag issues in TS3 are caused by the open world's capabilities, we have to keep in mind that it's an old game with an old technology, created more than 10 years ago. Just because they weren't great with something back then doesn't mean it can't be great in the future.
@MagnumPatrol2 жыл бұрын
That’s partly why sims 4 is a huge disappointment for me. Sims 3 was so ambitious to the point where the game just lagged because the technology then couldn’t handle it. Now they have the technology and give us the bare minimum with sims 4 and even give us less than what was included in all the previous titles. Mods save that poor game.
@khoavo510 Жыл бұрын
I think the open world has less to do with causing lag. There are many open world games (even old ones) that didn't run as badly as the sims 3 did. It might've been more to do with overall optimization than anything else, and the fact that sims frequently get stuck when routing to do something which was the cause of the infamous Isla Paradiso lag/freeze.
@distressed444 Жыл бұрын
i have a very mediocre gaming pc. very old cpu and graphics card. Yes sims 3 runs well with all the packs and a lot of cc. Well, when we got to play it, we quickly saw that 4 was more of a dollhouse game rather than a life-sim.

what I love about's open-world in the sims 3 is that all the sims are at their designated places, so unlike sims 4, when I send my sim to visit their neighbors, the neighbors don't spawn in the same spot at the same time as my sim. Regarding the lagging issues, honestly after fixing it with your guide, I experience little to no lagging in the game (However I do experience some lagging in cas, but not that much) And tbh, I experience more lagging in the sims 4 than in the sims 3 and I play on medium to high graphics in both games (btw I play on a very average laptop)

RE: Sims 3 lag due to open world (I know i'm really late) It isn't just the open world, it's the hardware it was made for and (in my experience with making my own worlds and editing existing worlds) the routing. So, for example, Isla Paradiso doesn't just have issues with the house boats, there are a lot of spots where sims simply get stuck. Getting stuck means uncontrolled sims will try to reroute and reroute and reroute, requiring mods like NRAAS mods to reset them automatically. I could name off the top of my head the bush thats literally blocking access to entire lots, the toilets blocking entire bathrooms and so on. That is, admittedly, an issue with the open world because it's HUGE and needs to be decorated to feel alive, but it's also something that can be remedied. I think with newer hardware and care/attention put towards making sure sims don't get stuck on stuff, the game would run well. And if issues are found, worlds can be patched. Maybe not for current saves, but for new saves. (not to mention strays getting stuck on stuff too 🙄 the bane of my existence in legacy challenges) ALSO RE: Bridgeport The city has so many small details, like a tiny chance of your sim being mugged on the metro! There's so much love in it

To play bridgeport: 1. Use ella’s fixed version. 2. Move apartment dial thing (where you press to call down a person from an apartment) so that there is a space between it and a wall. (Sims tend to spawn around it so you dont want them to spawn inside one of the dark rooms) 3. Add door to the lobby into the dark room as a lot of sims get stuck in there cause the game spawns them there. Its a lot of trial and error some houses have a weird area that seem to make sims spawn there so best is always remove it and make that part a part of the lobby. Reducing the dark rooms as much as possible is essential

My potentially unpopular opinion is that almost all the store worlds are awful. Not for their aesthetic, but for how they run when in play. They have horrible routing as well, and they were never updated, so other expansion packs don't always play well with them (i.e. floating snow, boats breaking routing even worse than some of them already were, etc). The worst offender of them being Hidden Springs, which upsets me the most because it's one I think is gorgeous, but it had been effectively unplayable for YEARS until the smooth patch came out. Terrible lag and crashes within the first in game week meant that it was impossible to get a save going in that world for very long. Some people had luck making it work by deleting one of the lookouts, but that didn't always work (for me at least anyway). They are worlds that you paid the same price as an expansion pack for, but they couldn't be assed half the time to fix their own product!? Because they released it on their online store, that excludes them from having been updated or fixed? Lazy bullshit! It's something that was often complained about in the old forums, you'd think they'd have fixed some of what they broke, but noooooooo. It just pisses me off, because while yes we have mods to fix the shit EA couldn't be assed to do themselves, as consumers we shouldn't be expected to fix their busted ass product just so we can enjoy it to play the game! Why yes, I am still salty about the store worlds being cool in premise, but not always working right. Why do you ask?
@alanilyss2 жыл бұрын
Honestly, ever since a bit before sims 4 EA got LAZY. Sims 4 sucks. Okay? I'm sorry. You can't have fun and the MODDING COMMUNITY, not EA workers. I repeat, not even established with EA, are MAKING THE SIMS GAMES. EA can't do anything anymore. I do admire how clean the sims 4 runs and looks, but I still prefer sims 3 graphics.

@Mai-tai-3 жыл бұрын
prepare to read an essay lol (I will admit upfront there's a nostalgia factor bc it was my first EP and I was shamelessly into Twilight around this time lmao). 1.Apartments- I understand these only appeal to certain people, and I personally prefer to live anywhere else bc the elevators really are infuriating. I think people just like the grind from starting in an apartment to ending up living in the celebrity hills area in a mansion. 2. The clubs- I love them and I wish every town had as many clubs as Bridgeport. It's cool that there are so many different types of clubs too. But if you're predominantly a family player, I understand how you wouldn't use them all that much. 3. The lore- I think the families are really interesting in this town, but that can be said about any town since the sims team did such a great job with TS3. There's a whole feud with the vampire families, the celebrities have their own personalities, etc etc.. I especially love the love triangle in the household with the vampire Beau Merrick who lives with 3 women who all have romantic interests with him. I think I like the lore best in Bridgeport bc i just know the families the best there, so I can understand finding the lore in the town you're most familiar wtih the most interesting. Rags to riches challenges are also very fun in Bridgeport. Honestly, I 100% get it if you think the world looks ugly. to be frank it is the world i take the least screenshots of lol. But somehow it's still my favorite. From a personal standpoint, I love the bridgeport premade sims the most out of any town, I love the clubs and the night life environment (i also love sims 2 nightlife lol), and I don't always fw the celebrities but it can be a fun addition to storylines as well as vampires. Overall, it could just come down to play style or nostalgia, since people associate bridgeport with the late night pack itself and its addition of bands, more instruments, the professional bar, hot tubs, butlers, the celebrity system, vampires, clubs, the mixology skill, etc. But even though it might be nostalgia, i still play in and enjoy bridgeport the most out of all towns

I really miss lighting category candles and torches with actual flame from the sims 3. It's really hard to make a dungeon without them. Also, secret doors that don't need to be unlocked, having multiple secret doors, having secret doors that are not bookcases, and secret door bookcases that don't sink into the wall thus look like actual bookcases. I wish they would've given us nectar making and vineyards, wineries instead of the juice fizzing bullshit which is a pale AF imitation. I agree with the elevator problems in Bridgeport, that's why I always moved to the outskirts eventually. But it's the best world to vibe in as a Vampire, VTMB style. About the hair in sims 3, I think they say it looks "straw like" because it's separated into strands that made you able to add highlights. Sims 4 was too lazy to do it.

Sent my sim to one of the bars and he was done with his second drink before another sim showed up, sent one to a park and nobody showed up, the library had 2 sims... too many lots and not enough sims to fill them all.. If you are going to have bars in the world you want no more than 3, 1 dive bar, 1 performance bar with a showtime stage and band stage, then an upper class bar/dance club. My unpopular opinion about sims 3 (i have a lot i think) but the one i remember right now is the graphics, i personally prefer by faaaaaaaaar the sims 3 graphics to the sims 4 graphics. For me sims 4 graphics are too cartoon and i don't like that at all. Even a game like sims 2 has better graphics than sims 4 for me. I might be the only one but for me such graphics produced for a game which was created during the modern era with all technologies available is truly scandalous when you have games like sims 2 and sims 3 which were made during the 2000's which look better ... Concerning the sims 3 base clothes and hairs, tbh i don't mind them most of them are very dated yes but i think you can still do pretty sims with them. I maybe sucks at fashion but for me the sims i do look pretty with the base clothes and hairs. Also i want to add to the unpopular opinion about bridgeport that for me i think the world is really just a world for a test game with a single sims and trying all the actions late night offers. I'll explain myself better but i tried to start a let's play with a family in Bridgeport to change from always playing in sunset valley but i find very restricted the way to play in that world. There's few houses which are affordable as starting house and except the luxury "stars" house on the hill there's not many houses lot. The flats are also very small and most of them have like only 1 bedroom or either 0 even so you can't really get a family living in there except if you kick the community family living in that 5 bedrooms flat. So that's my main problem with bridgeport and i gave up my let's play there after playing it for 1,5 generations. But for the rest (clothing, actions brought with it, CAS etc) i like it a lot. It's definitely part of my must have to play sims 3. Also i want to tell you that i love your video you're very different from sims youtuber (you don't hesitate to be honest with your opinions and i like this a lot and you also have a way of playing that i like while usually the other sims youtuber are annoying me xD) I'm very glad that i found your channel :D Much love from a random french viewer and sub of your channel xD (Also sorry if there's any mistake with my english ^^)

Not sure if this is unpopular but the celebrity system in sims 3 fucking sucks ass. It has cool features like paparazzis (though they could use some changes) as well as rumors which become enhanced when you’re famous. But the system itself is trash, it’s annoying af like if you accidently get a star by talking to your neighbor you’re stuck as a celebrity getting hunted by everyone, even if your day job is a simple farmer, aka why tf is there not celebrity decay if you dont do famous stuff. Further, the intergration to other packs is severely lacking. Showtime careers???? Hello???? It’s like 3 careers that have some form of celebrity tied to them, whereas a lot of things could in actuality make a sim famous. Its weird that you kinda forget about the celebrity feature whilst being a famous singer..

For years I played TS3 as a base game because World Adventures crashed my computer so I had to return it (which broke my heart, I loved Egypt and China sooo much but barely got to enjoy China), and only got bored after that long a time. The open world added so much to do, the incredible customisations in CAS and build mode made the clothes and objects feel new every time, the premade Sims were interesting, there were plenty of jobs... It was perfect. I then added on Ambitions, Pets, and University, all of which added a lot to my gameplay. I played more of TS3 with 3 packs (only stopped because I no longer have my desktop and these were DVDs lol 😂) than I play TS4 with every single pack. There's nothing to do in TS4. I get bored 5 minutes into gameplay. I hope the Sims team take everyone's complaints seriously to make an epic TS5.

Not an upopular opinion, but I feel that Sims 2 base game is more enjoyable than Sims 3. Sure Sims 3 was released with more content which i do appreciate, but Sims 2 base game is in my opinion more fun to play due to the storylines and how unpredictable the Sims can be even without the Mods. On another hand Sims 3 makes me bored very quickly specially because of lag, i also despise the overall look of the Sims and the style. I think its a great game but not a personal favorite of mine.

LOL, I didn't know my opinion was that unpopular!! But pls, don't get me wrong, I love the sims 3 and all it's expansions and gameplay, otherwise I wound't be addictivelly watching all of your Lepacy videos. I just believe that I can get a full experience without open worlds. Perhaps it's because I prefer rotational gameplay, and the sims 2 and 4 are better at that than the sims 3. In fact, ts3 is the worst for this kind of playstyle and it's impossible without mods and a lot savefile cleaning, which makes it very tiresome. I respect every other type of gameplay and preference for ts3, and I, myself, love playing it from times to times. I just find frustating all the work I have to do to play the way I like, and having to play with one family alone just to avoid lag, when all I wanna do is have some fun after a sick day

As someone who just got the pack after everyone saying it's the best pack ever i'm also feeling a bit underwhelmed tbh. I still enjoy WA, i just feel like it's not as ground-breaking as everyone was making it out to be. I do kinda wish there was more for kids to do in the vacation worlds, i sent my entire family to France and the kid just couldn't do anything lol.

In the 70's, 80's and 90's, you overlooked the hairstyles with accessories, as well as the separates (it has my favorite female jeans and denim shorts). Also, if you take a good look at the clothing, it was the height of the disco era, and I do see it represented (although many of the styles remained popular into the 80's). A better glimpse of what this pack has to offer can be found at Carl's Guide. I also feel Into the Future doesn't get enough love, because scifi nerds, like myself, now can create not just futuristic worlds, but have the tech to now match them (regardless if you never desire traveling Into the Future (which, imho, is also a lot of fun). While I do love playing with Fairies (and since Sims 3 is the only one to have playable ones), I can see why those who enjoy the Fantasy Lore of film and literature, might find them lackluster, but there are mods that flesh them out better. As for the Fairy Houses, I do wish we could build them and see their insides (kind of how we can build hidden lots in Sims 2), and only be able to access them meeting the criteria to do so (i.e. Secret Society lots). I also wish Fairies had more powers, and were just one aspect of the fae, like in film and literature (i.e. leprechauns, elves, changelings, dwarves, etc.), instead of just Fairies and Pixies. Technically, werewolves are changelings, ergo they also can count towards the fae, as would be mermaids, Djinn (jinn or genies) , and some of the witches spells do encompass the magic of the fae, but sadly, EA failed to broaden the most diverse occult further. Still, Supernatural is my favorite Sims 3 pack, so I agree (would like the range be diversified) and disagree (am happy to have the playable fae that I do). Also, all the Sims games aliens do look like creatures of the fae. I agree with open world aspect not being necessary, but I would like to see semi open world gameplay (like how apartment lots are in Sims 2). I truly do love Sims 3's open world, but I have to choose which packs I am willing to sacrifice playing with to cut down on lag. Sims 3 was never optimized for an open world experience, and if I could toggle that feature on/off or have just open areas, I would so use those features for better gameplay. I do prefer Sims 2's semi-open worlds, with AL. As for the last unpopular opinion, I can find many aspects of the game that might have someone claim it to be the worst (although, I do not agree): 1) Only those with high end computers can run all it has to offer (or even some/most). 2) It never was optimized for open world (mods are necessary for stability and fixes). 3) Many animations and gameplay elements (i.e. hair/water physics, genetics, pulling utensils/pots/pans out of cabinets/drawers, driving in/out of garages, etc.), were scrapped from prior games. 4) Future dlc broke aspects of the game (most notable is the Sims appearance, i.e. pudding faces), again relying on modders and CC to fix, which leaves console players SOL. 5) Not all packs were ported to console/other platforms (however, that is true for all iterations, except Sims 4). 6) EA's Greed: Discontinuing the ability to earn SimPoints (by watching ads, buying dlc) for Store purchases, as well as, not making this feature available to everyone. Btw, I am lucky here, I was fortunate enough to be able to take advantage of this, ergo, I own the entire store, and only spent money on selected items and worlds that were not offered for SimPoints. Moving on to an incomplete game (Sims 4), instead of fleshing out and applying fixes to Sims 3. Removing Sims 2 Ultimate Collection, to try and steer players away from Life Simulators onto their DLC Simulator (Sims 4). 7) Lack of support from EA (goes hand in hand with #6). 8) Memories do not effect gameplay. 9) Personalities, aspirations/benefits, hobbies, interests, fears, turn-ons/turn-offs, etc. being scrapped, for a limited traits system (which does not evolve through gameplay). 10) While I do like many of the lifetime happiness rewards, there are no negative effects or repercussions. However, I find the Career Rewards far better in the Sims 2 (more accessible for children+), and can be redeemed earlier in careers. I could easily list several more, but I do still enjoy playing Sims 3, and luckily I do have a high end gaming computer to run it (although, it does still chug with most DLC installed). I also use a higher level of mods for the game to run. However, I still do rate Sims 3 my second favorite of the mainline series, with only Sims 2 taking that #1 slot, The Sims coming in a close 3rd and Sims 4 not just dead last, but completely forgettable.

My unpopular takes on these unpopular opinions cause nobody asked: 1. Into the Future is... underwhelming, I suppose. It's really good when you play it sorta Lepacy style and concentrate on exploring this pack only - in this case it's really enjoyable (not the in-game Sims 4 promotions tho...). Yet even then it's not really replayable. But when you're playing generally, like with all EPs turned on... I mean, I also turn on everything except ITF. It just annoys me. All the randomly assigned clothing/hair on townies, that goddamn portal with its goddamn notification, etc etc. The babby engineering feature is sick tho. 2. The base game is dope. Period-t. 3. 70-80-90's - I agree, the female clothing is pretty damn good but otherwise I don't really use this pack. 4. I kinda agree with the commenter on this one. Bridgeport is absolutely great in theory (like many other EA concepts are) but... the town is so dead, you know? When you tryna go to a club, there's like noone there, even if it's a hot spot. Where's the fun in that?! And don't get me started on routing and lag issues... The biggest pet peeve for me (not the game's fault tho) is that my sims get a TAXI to go to the SUBWAY STATION near the NEXTDOOR LOT. And they PAY for that goddamned taxi because I have a mod for that. OMG it literally drives me crazy, WHY CAN'T YOU JUST RUN??? 5. I don't really play with faeries or any other supernaturals, just not my cup of tea, but I gotta say that vampires, uh, SUCK. It's so easy and boring to play with them if you stick to the nighttime lifestyle! It's the "power" moodlet for me which makes them learn skills so damn faster, I hate it >:( And even, like, they don't even need to drink other people's blood to survive, they can just live on that goddamn plasma juice quick meal! 6. TS3 was my first Sims game so it's really hard for me to play TS2 or TS4 because, like, you know... I feel like I'm trapped inside of my sim's house. I never feel the need to go outside. Of course it can happen in TS3, too, but the open world lures you into exploring. On the other hand though, all the cool places are almost always empty and that's really annoying! Because you need to locate other sims using mods to try and meet them. Like you go to an NPC's party - it's EMPTY. You go to a nightclub (see p.4) - it's DEAD. There is some sort of a mechanic alike TS2&4 where it makes other sims flock to the place where your sim just went but it seem to work only with the base game community lots. Whereas in TS2&4 community lots are exploding with other sims and I really-really love that. 7. a) Base game hair texture is god awful b) Base game clothing is... well, 50/50, you can find some cool casual stuff there. It work's best with velocitygrass' "Remove overlays" mod: when you get rid of that weird vinyl layer, everything looks better c) For me, the fundamental problem is that thing... Well, it unfortunately happens in real life (and with CC makers) all the time: instead of giving us lots of base, casual hair&clothing, EA always makes the freakiest, the ugliest, the most controversial pieces - and for what? For what?? Like, we didn't actually have good female jeans until DIESEL, my brethren in Christ, and Diesel came out in mid 2012! Why??? Why do they feel the need to do a goddamn freak show? Yes of course, stuff packs/store collections are a great way to add some unusual, theme specific content but... ugh it's just so frustrating. I actually feel like in Sims 4 they did a better job with that. But I don't play Sims 4 so I might be misinformed. 8. The best thing to remember is the point that Madi said in the beginning of the video: you enjoy whatever you enjoy and that's absolutely valid because it's the most important thing while playing anything or doing anything in general. We can exchange our opinions when it comes to any sorts of preferences but not fight over them. Cause what's the point in that? I'd like to add, though, that I feel more players would really love The Sims 3 if: 1) EAxis would pull their heads out of Sims 4's azz and fix all the major issues in TS3 (64 bit for Windows when? 👀) 2) Content creators, especially mods creators, would focus more on adding new gameplay stuff for Sims 3. I feel so jealous when I see all sorts of realistic and unrealistic modifications for The Sims 4! Illicit activities, the infamous Wicked Whims (and have anyone here heard of K!nky World? you shouldn't cause I've heard it can corrupt your game pretty badly), realistic births, realistic deaths, realistic this, realistic that - SO MUCH TO CHOOSE FROM! But TS3 in comparison (!) is pretty much forgotten at this point and it's really sad.

I`m gonna say it outright as a big CC user-Sims 3 IS the worst game.Again,as a huge CC user.I don`t really think lag problems are low hanging fruit either just because,well,I want to play the game.And I`d say it`s a huge con not being able to play the game when that`s literally its job.Even with mods and frame limiter and smooth patch on a decent gaming PC,it takes me more than an hour to get to Appaloosa Plains alone.Then I can`t even dream about going into CAS to customize sims because that`ll take me another 2 hours at least. By the time I get it all done,it`s night time and the Sims movements get laggy.I get why this is and I`m not bashing the game perse(even if I do think they could`ve done a better alpha Sims design for 2009).What I want is a remaster so that I can finally experience all that magic so many people talk about.Also,unless my mods are dated or conflict with each other,I never got a crash in Sims 2 or Sims 4.I might just be lucky. With Sims 2,I had more than triple the amount of CC I have in Sims 3 and it was so easy to play it.I also agree with the person who mentioned open world not being that important.Don`t get me wrong,open world is a great idea,but if I think logically,if my game becomes near unplayable due to it,I`d scale it down.Sims was the OG,Sims 2 hit that sweet spot and had so many little intricacies while keeping a balance,Sims 3 had big ideas but it was way too ambitious for its limitations and then Sims 4 has people behind it who just don`t care enough. Whew,that`s a lot of potentially unpopular opinions. :D
