Fool me again was from about 10 or 12 years ago on a writers cruise. They gathered and just sat around and sang songs. You can find 3 more songs from that cruise. Barely alive was written by chris when he was with the jompson brothers. It is one of my favorites but check out "the river" live at the shedd, Awesome

Ah cool. Thats awesome, thank you! Both songs were great. Thank you for watching! Please stay tuned :)

The first one seems to be in a dinner club or something. I love how the chatter in the audience stops suddenly when he starts singing. Even though the sound quality is bad, it doesn’t matter. His voice is so powerful, I swear he needs no microphone. The second was many years ago, at a song writer’s convention. You can tell how young he is by the length of his beard. He’s never shaved since he started growing it. Great reaction! Keep ‘em coming! 👍

Yeah it's almost like everyone forgets where they are and just starts listening to his voice. I was worried about the audio/volume but it ended up not mattering at all - he is just too good. Thanks Lisa! I can always rely on ya!

loved your comment. other songs to hear (if you haven't already heard): cold - north dakota - i was wrong - cover of its a man's world - either way - death row - sometimes i cry - higher - fire away (video) - broken halos - but there are so so many other past and current songs not mentioned . totally amazing.. he sings all music genres (live versions are truly great) ! Amazing singer and songwriter!

Chris looks like a hippie couch potato but sings with so much soul and Motown r&b, it's ridiculous. Check out his songs: I Was Wrong live from Austin City Limits, Sometimes I Cry live from the Bing Lounge, Death Row, Either Way, Nobody to Blame & his cover of James Brown's It's a Man's World (live). It will leave you speechless.

I think I have a couple of these lined up actually! I have already reacted to live Sometimes I Cry and I Was Wrong. They started my live Stapleton fandom. Check them out if you can. Thanks Terri!

His cover/tributes are awesome too. James Brown, Aretha Franklin, Prince, and Tom Petty covers , just to name a few. My personal favorite is the Prince tribute "Nothing Compares to You"...I've seen him 6 times live and he NEVER disappoints!

I hope to see him live one day! It would be incredible. Thanks Colby - I appreciate you watching. Please stay tuned! :)

My favorite cover is "Whipping Post" by the Allman Bros. The band is out of this world and Chris' vocal are chilling.
@danmcdonagh89243 жыл бұрын
That was years ago with his old band . The steel drivers. Then he had a rock band then left to do his think after his wife got him off the bottle.

Check out Foy Vance, Make It Rain (studio/album version). Like Chris it's unexpectedly bluesy and soulful. H.E.R. also did a cover that's 🔥!

What would really help with the audio is if you would use headphones. Especially on videos like this one where the audio is not all that great to start with. Just an idea. I have my volume up to 80 just try & hear the song. "Hell yeah, brother" perfect. Thanks for doing these two.
@Cm42TV4 жыл бұрын
Glad you enjoyed this one too, Kathy. The only thing about me using earphones would be that you guys wouldn't be able to hear the audio at all. I'd need to edit it in post and that raises the chance of a copyright claim/strike big time. Thanks for watching! :) x
