That’s a great tutorial. Good pointers for setting up my grandsons exact guitar as you’ve shown. Thanks.

Great video just what I needed! I was given one of these last year. Thought it sounded a little quiet. Then I realized someone had put classical Nylon strings on it. So it’s my understanding they should be steel strings am I correct? Thank you in advance!

yes, I use medium steel strings. Glad the video helped. Thanks for checking it out.

Not sure if any of these would work. www.amazon.com/s?k=acoustic+guitar+battery+holder&adgrpid=73510175212&hvadid=410094433433&hvdev=m&hvlocphy=9031778&hvnetw=g&hvqmt=b&hvrand=7743939421655411031&hvtargid=kwd-303332052903&hydadcr=12991_11426853&tag=hydsma-20&ref=pd_sl_8wcth8y831_b That guitar is no longer with me. I’ll do more research next week. Maybe there’s another pickup system that will fit in the same spot.

I think all the negative reviews probably come from 3 types of reviewers. #1...and I really, reeeeally dislike this growing corner of the guitar world. They review a guitar with the notion of if it's acoustic and not a Martin, it's below them and if it's electric and not a '59 Les Paul or a '61 Strat then get off my lawn. Ugh 🙄 #2: they've seen the informercial and assume it's crap and go the comedic angle #3: they do review as is out of box, sitting for 15 years, without doing a setup Once you get past that scam-ish off putting nature of the infomercial, stop trying to compare it to what they were telling you to compare it to, it a fine little guitar. It's playable.

Thanks for the input, appreciate it. To me, It was a decent guitar to play after a set up. I don’t like knocking guitars at all. No matter where they came from. I always think most guitars have a chance to be playable. helps me learn to be better at Repair and set ups to. There is always more to learn.

Mine isn't making any noise come out of the amp. I can hear a faint white noise that can be controlled as I change the volume knob on the guitar, so maybe the pickups aren't working. Or maybe I have the wrong strings.

At 22:36 you’ll see how the battery goes in. That’s the first thing I try. Try a different cable too if you have one. Check amp for any stand by switch. That always throws me off. Let me know how it goes with new battery and different cable method.

What gauge strings did you install? Regular light phosphor bronze? My Dad has one that’s been sitting for 15 years that still plays decently. I want to clean it up and get it going again :)

I like heavier strings since I play kind of hard and loud. These are good slide guitar strings too. Here's what went on the guitar in the video: Ernie Ball Earthwood Medium strings - These sound really great High E - 13 B - 17 G - 26 D - 34 A - 46 Low E - 56 Not an affiliate anymore. Amazon link to strings: www.amazon.com/Ernie-Ball-Earthwood-Phosphor-Acoustic/dp/B0002DUQ0O/ref=sr_1_2?crid=33J3JY230YFP&keywords=ernie%2Bball%2Bearthwood%2Bmedium&qid=1671321134&sprefix=ernie%2Bball%2Bearthwood%2Bmedium%2Caps%2C214&sr=8-2&th=1 Good luck with the guitar. Rescue it and let the music ring. Thanks for watching.

What size allen for the truss rod?
@TheAngryMushroom10 ай бұрын
5 mm fits. Thanks for the question. Out of curiosity, I tried an old Ikea furniture Allen wrench from my toolbox. That fits too. Who knew? This tech kit I use from Cruz Tools has a variety of Allen wrench sizes. a.co/d/7p9TGe2

what is the size of the saddle?
@TheAngryMushroom5 ай бұрын
hi, thanks for the question. The Martin specs for a saddle, should be a good jumping off point. 74 x 11 x 2.5 in millimeters. link to acoustic saddle specs. macnichol.com/acoustic-guitar-saddle-sizes-chart/ you may need to adapt for the Estaban.

This guitar in the video wasn’t too bad off. With these mass produced Esteban’s it is likely to end up with a dud. Thanks for checking out the video. Hope it’s playable at least.
