Welcome back to BabyMetal's metalverse 🦊🤘🌐 Glad to see you're back with this track from the new album, Another song with that typical wtf effect they get us used to it. Queen SuMetal is narrating us a King's tale of the Metal Kingdom with this psytrance mixed with middle eastern, Egyptian, Arabian or whatever sound that looks so cool with the unique blend of BM. This was at BabyMetal Begins - The Other One - Clear Night live at PIA Arena MM, Yokohama, last April 2nd with the already new official member MomoMetal, she was one of the avengers since 2019 and coming from the same roots in Sakura Gakuin just like the girls. The Western Kami Band was performing there but this MV got album studio sound so there's no particular credits for the instruments only the composer and lyrics. Some fans at Sabaton's Europe Tour and recently at Asian and Australian Tour were enjoying this song live, but everyone is having a blast with the new singles and classic BM songs. Next suggestion: - MAYA official audio track. Btw I like your outro song, the melody reminds me to Nothing But Thieves - Afterlife. Thanks for sharing this, see you next time 🦊🤘🔥

LOL!!! My absolute favorite musical moments are the WTF moments! I love not knowing what to expect, and being surprised with each listen! I'm adding to the growing BM recommendation list! You are all amazing! You are the first person to leave a note on the outro song!! Fun fact, I recorded that about 15 years ago on this crappy 8 track recorder, with just the onboard effects! You made this guy smile reading your comment!

@@StanDotsethMusic Glad to hear that.🙃 More wtf songs? - Iine! official MV, btw today is YuiMetal birthday so it'll be a good time to know her a little bit more with that song they brought back at recent live concerts but without her of course, she left the group in 2018 but we will always love her.🦊🤘❤️

Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。 Metalizm was premiered in the two-day shows on April 1/2 and I witnessed the both at the venue in Yokohama😍. This MV is from Day-2 when Momoko appeared as the 3rd official member, Momometal, for the first time. Western (American) Kami Band did a great job in those shows and their actual plays were much better and heavier than the studio sound in this MV. You may have noticed the repetitive phrase "Zumu Zumu". It is interesting, because it reminds me of another phrase with tonal similarity "Muzu Muzu". When you feel itchy or tickling or a kind of slight frustration, Japanese people express it using this phrase "Muzu Muzu". In an interview, Su referred to this song with Arabic flavor as "a new drawer of BABYMETAL" [source : magazine PMC vol. 27, page 41]. I viewed this choreo on stage by Su, Moa and Momometal as mixture of seriousness, playfulness, comicalness, therefore amazingness on top of Su's fantastic vocals and intricate guitar phrases and hefty drumming by West Kamis. The new drawer is a tribute to New BABYMETAL.

Greetings! I've always wanted to travel to Japan, and feel that would be the ultimate BM experience!! That is so awesome you were able to see them live, and love that you shared your experience! I bet the heavier version was even more ridiculous, especially with the energy of a live performance! Really cool insights, and love reading about this! Thank you so much for sharing, and love learning from the lifelong fans!! You rock!

Great reaction. "METALIZMIZUMIZUMU" - great song - Middle Eastern/Egyptian/Arabian (or similar) trance metal at its best🤘🦊🤘 This video has the studio audio (in the live performances on the recent tour CJ Masciantonio has even been adding a bit more to that first guitar solo🎸). On a side note, this reaction didn't show up on any of my searches on YT for BABYMETAL or BABYMETAL reactions - fortunately I am subscribed and got a notification or it would have passed me by entirely.

Oh no! Thanks for letting me know! I checked my tags and everything is set up. YT might just not have it flagged yet?? Oooh, I want more guitar solos for sure! Love the ladies, but am a bit partial to guitarists and the band. Still, an absolutely amazing band and love everything I’ve checked out so far!!

@@StanDotsethMusic Not sure what the problem is, I've just seen a couple more that are not showing up in my searches, so I don't think it is anything you've done wrong. They have plenty of guitar solos, don't worry. A couple of songs that immediately spring to mind (and these are both Su-metal solo songs, so just her and the Kami Band on stage) - 'Akatsuki' live at Budokan Black Night is safe to use - and 'Amore' live at Wembley would be the ideal, but any live performance is great (of course).

Nice reaction. That's different. Words often said after watching Babymetal. All their songs really are different. And they're different from everybody else. And Babymetal does things differently from everyone else. Unique. The foxhole is deep and full of surprises.

That's what I'm absolutely loving about this band! Variety keeps me interested, and the fact they can write such complicated, yet accessible songs, while making each one such a unique experience, is a testament to their talent! I'm loving it!! Appreciate the note!!

Great reaction, thanks! Yeah, very Phrygian dominant stuff here! 😁 This MV has the studio recording of the audio over the visuals from their Yokohama concert from April 2nd 2023. The Kami Band members have no credits for the studio recordings (except for Leda Cygnus on a couple of songs). The point is that the visuals and the audio are disconnected on this kind of MVs and makes no sense to show CJ shredding much when you are not actually hearing him. I'm lucky enough to have experienced this one performed live last month and it's impressive. As Grington300 said, CJ Masciantonio even adds some extra notes in the end of the first solo. It's so good that I consider this my favorite moment of the setlist (And they played one of my top favorite songs, "Megitsune". And yes, they are very diverse musically and never cease to surprise us all. YT searches are acting weird lately. I caught your vid on my homepage. They also delete comments for no reason (more than usual). 🤔 Until next time!

YES YES YES!!! Another Music Theory buff!! I LOVE IT!! That's so cool you saw them live! I have it on my bucket list, as I can only imagine how cool of an experience it is, and clearly the musicians are top notch! YT can be a bit odd, but either way, I really appreciate the notes on these videos. It's such a blast to share my experiences with music, and reminds me of the days of sharing/trading CDs with friends and checking out new bands/songs! Take care!!

@@StanDotsethMusic I'm sorry to disappoint you, but I just got basic formation in music at school including sol-fa or music theory (and I believe it should be mandatory). However, I've learned a lot by myself since I discovered BABYMETAL. They are so diverse that I'm always in the need to read about something new. Like this time, about harmonic minor scales and how they use them in many different regions and cultures. Even in Flamenco, which theoretically is from my country, and I had no idea it uses the same scale. I don't know, but knowing this little (or big) things, makes me appreciate more the music and the way they perform it. I always love an emotional reaction but getting feedback from someone who knows about music like you, always makes me value more what they do: from the songwriting to the execution. And they never disappoint! And yes, it was so cool that I decided I need to see them live again... three more times this year. 😁 They are touring in the US soon (from late Aug. to mid Oct.). If you have the chance to go to see them, don't even hesitate. You won't regret it.

Thanks for this reaction ! Honestly, I think for a first performance of a song to DVD/Blu-ray, we don't get a lot of band shots, Babymetal will choose to showcase the ladies first. Which kind of makes sense. Ever since the second song they released (iine) they made very clear how Babymetal will just do whatever genres they want.
@StanDotsethMusic Жыл бұрын
That totally makes sense, and I support! I'm just super partial/biased towards the guitarists and the band, not to take away from the ladies (as they are ridiculously talented!!) I hope they keep pushing genre boundaries, as that's my favorite part! Keep it fresh!

Hey Hey! Glad you are enjoying your Babymetal journey! I know I'm a bit late to this reaction, but here's some additional band info: Kami Band (God Band) - This expert session band fully replaced Babymetal's original "Babybones" fake band (actors in skeleton costumes pretend playing to track) during a 5-song encore at Legend 1997 concert (2013) celebrating Su-Metal's (lead vocals) 16th Birthday. Babymetal was just starting to get big, so no budget for real band until then. Kami Band plays for all Babymetal live shows from here on out. Guitars: Leda Cygnus, Takayoshi Ohmura (pink glam guitar, Mikio's understudy), and Mikio Fujioka (RIP 2018😢) Bass: Bohte Daisuke (BOH, 6-string god of bass) Drums: Aoyama Hideki (known for stamina and speed - fun fact: 2016 Tokyo Dome Black Night closing song, after an ENTIRE concert, held a ~7min long 32nd note double kick drum beat for the epic ending, while the girls said good bye to 55K fans. I think I read somewhere he had to be carried off stage afterwards at this show. 🤯 Damn! lol) There's been a few other members, but the guys above played vast majority of all Babymetal shows. ~2018 - 2019 time period, Kami Band transitioned from traditional white robe and white corpse face paint to dark robes and masks. In Jan 2020 (I could be wrong on exact date), Kami Band - West was also introduced, primarily to assist with the increased tour intensity. They covered the US leg of Babymetal's tours. However, they are not limited to that, and have played with Babymetal all around the world, including Japan. Guitars: Chris Kelly and CJ Masciantonio (from Galactic Empire). Bass: Clint Tustin (from Galactic Empire) Drums: Anthony Barone (from Shadow of Intent). Kami Band West is pretty epic as well, and they definitely bring a different, but awesome sound to Babymetal. You'll see them in majority of their newer concert footage. 🤘🦊

I'm 100% sure that Metalizm was created to showcase the musicians behind Babymetal. The technical rifts in there are extremely demanding and Su's part is relatively light in comparison. This album was supposed to be "what if Babymetal was part of a multiverse" and each song was supposed to be Babymetal in a different world, so what if here we are looking at a Macross Plus - Sharon Apple situation where Babymetal are just the voices in the machine that people put music to....very much like the Vocaloid sensation that held KZbin in its grip for quite a while a decade or so ago. Interesting to think about.
