When i set up my new studio 5 years ago, i sent the plans to GIK acounstics and they sent back a set of recommended plans and panels. I bought all of them which came to about US$7K and installed then. The room turned out sounding really nice and professional. I later moved some panels around mostly moving some of the bass traps to the front wall after i changed my monitor speakers. The room sounded even better. I am really happy with GIK products in that the panels are all very well made and measured to work acoustically as they should, unlike random home made panels. Can't recommend anything better.

Shoutout to GIK Acoustics. Transformed my crappy room to actually be usable. And the impression series panels with the leaf pattern looked cooler in real life than I thought they would. I’ve honestly gotten compliments from tons of people on them.

Drums were the most obvious difference, and like you said the room didn't sound bad to begin with, but the focus is so much better. Definitely worth it.

I consulted GIK Acoustics for my recording room 2 years ago. I have used it for recording drums and audio for my videos. The difference in the space is night and day. I have two panels up and will be purchasing more as the needs grow.

Chris, great topic and thanks for sharing the before and after audio. Often, when I watch KZbin audio gear reviewers, I can't hear the differences they talk about. KZbin's audio quality isn't great. That's why your audio downloads are good. For the Room Mic, I liked the sound before acoustic treatment. It felt real, like a live room. After treatment, it was cleaner for sure. But the before sound had its own charm. Thanks again for sharing both versions. It really helps us hear the difference.

GIK is the best company out there for off-the-shelf acoustic treatment.

That’s a big big difference. Thanks for the demo

great demonstration and yes, after is far superior. Having said that, its nearly impossible to get the exact same mic placement and performance dynamics for it to be a 100% legit A/B comparison

This really helps show the difference to the sound - thank you Chris! I think it would also be interesting to hear the artist's perceptions as they played . . . my guess is that almost anyone playing in a well-treated room would be inspired by the better sound, and achieve a better performance as a result of that good feeling (kinda like singing better when they hear themselves through a good vocal chain). I always appreciate your videos and I've learned so much from them!

@@peterstevens7401 I had the same thought… he seemed more confident and relaxed when singing in the treated room

9:30 lol cmon bro I hear a $10 difference also the microphone is placed upside down. Might not be a big deal but also I think I see a different pick being used. Is he using a thicker pick in the first example?
@DanielC__3 ай бұрын
Have no idea why the mic was upside down but it shouldn’t make any difference. I hear a huge difference in the tracks, drums being the most dramatic and vocals the least.

I can't hear any difference in this vid- am in the process of treating my studio and use GIK panels and they make a real difference IRL (in real life?- I'm an old person)
