Acqua Di Gio - The Honest Truth!

I was searching for ages for this fragrance. I smelt it here and there on people. I finally found out that it was acqua di gio. Now that I've used it for a couple of years (between other fragrances) I can no longer notice the smell/note that got me hooked. A shame really. My nose must of gotten too used to it.

i had the same experience, some notes just went away. have you tried to smell it in a new bottle and did it solve the issue?

@@rolfrau5743 My current bottle is about 1 year old and it still seems like something is missing. Have not tried a brand new recent bottle in store lately though. There was a certain smell/trail I could smell on people which I still can no longer smell.

I've got ADG Profumo, just the other day got some massive compliments in a restaurant, it has the freshness of the original plus the maturity of patchouli and incense

@@sabasiddique73 ADG Profumo is the longest lasting fresh one. On clothes it will stay for days. On skin 8-10hours is what I get.

6.7oz is the only size that makes sense to me for just about any fragrance that you know you like. You get such a huge discount for going that size it is silly to buy anything else unless your budget is really tight.

Acqua Di Gio not that fragrance what was before.:((( They changed on this fragrance.:( The "1996" Gio was the best on the world i think. They changed on this at 2011-2012.:(

R. Maj. I agree, the reformulation absolutely ruined this masterpiece. The true original had special emphasis on woods with a smooth aquatic accommodation. Now this new crap smells like citronella bug spray!

First time I used it was in 2006...it would last me the whole day, through a workout, through a shower. It would last on my clothes even after a wash.....now that's performance. Nowadays, I'm lucky if I can even smell it after 4 hours.

I think it smells AMAZING on the test strips in the store, but using it on myself I don't notice the citrus as much which is why I got it in the first place... Kind of disappointing.

FYI all cologne smells different on everyone. I have the same problem it doesn’t smell that strong on me but on other people I know it smells so strong. It all depends on your skin and pores as to how it’s released

Perry Ellis Red is an excellent ADG clone substitute that is much cheaper and many actually think is better as it has a hint of spiciness

CommonScents Honestly this is in the longest lasting Kelona own but I do get through whatever the event that I normally put it on for if I’m going to the movies or a bar or something like that it will last me the 2 to 5 hours I needed to also be aware though your nose is automatically going to ignore the smell after put it on after a bit because if you were always smell everything constantly you would get headaches from it some notes of smells you can notice more easily overtime I feel like it’s such a light sent it’s less noticeable purses like I have your scent like a mask or the space type sense for men’s colognes So chances are that’s probably what it is plus you have to remember everybody’s chemistry is different some guys and girls there sense will last much longer it is much more noticeable other people absorb it more and then there’s the majority that fall in between the two also try to see if other people notice the cologne around you most likely it’s just a combination of you not noticing it

I'm late to the fragrance game. I heard so much about adg. I got a sample. It only last 1 hour on my skin. Wish I could had tried the 96 version. I was only 8. Perry Ellis 360 smells similar and is cheaper and last longer on my skin.

In order to detect Acqua di Gio on me, even with 5 sprays I need to sniff very hard as if sniffing Coke. Otherwise, I get nothing. Don't want to go walking around like a drugsaddicted sniffing my wrist. Far too weak for me.

I get a strong 2-3 hours and a weak 5-6. Total is about 6 hours

Just to give you breakdown of how much this scent has changed. 2006: when I first bought it. A few sprays and it would last the whole day, i could smell it on my skin after a shower. I could smell it on my clothes after a wash. Great projection for hours. 2019: 4-5 sprays. Longevity is wack. An hour of projection (at most), 4ish hours of skin scent, completely disappears by the time I leave work. I will never buy ADG again....profumo is a better choice but even the longevity on that isnt that great.

Acqua Di Gio has been destroyed for me back in the 90's. Just like CK1. Acqua Di Gio reminds me of a group of Turkish dudes in adidas rip off pants and bomber jackets from Scott. All looking and smelling he same trying to look tough.
