I grew up next too train tracks, how i loved to sit and watch them go by...wondering where they were going. The 10pm train, always put me too sleep, I would lay in bed, waiting for it. I would hear the ground shaking, and here it comes right on time....zzzzzzzz......

I remember as a kid in Steamboat Springs Colorado listening to the coal trains running through Yampa Valley at night. They would go between Steamboat Springs, Colorado and Oak Creek Colorado. I am now a retired former truck, driver of 32 years. Drove interstate 40 along this rail, line many times from California to Missouri. Now I get to sit and watch everything that I couldn’t see because I was busy driving.

🎉🎉🎉🎉 Fantastic work on this, bnsf never cease of performing tons to action like this. For a railroad that schedules 70 trains a day, that's intense. For those intermodal trains, bnsf pretty much shipping 200 to 400 containers & trailers closely on monthly scale. In the end, great work.👏👏👏🫡😎💫🌟

Love trains, but my journey through the same area years back when hauling wanted fugitives as a deputy sheriff. Was always alone with someone dangerous person beside me across north Arizona along this entire section of the state.

I question your statement that the elevation East of Winslow "continues to drop.". Perhaps, but only as far East as the Little Colorado River bridge. The river meanders along between Holbrook toward Winslow, shadowing the railroad for over for 30 miles.

Unless changed some time ago, the acronym DIT stands for "Dead in Train.". That signifies one or more units with or without the diesel engine operating, but not electrically connected to the engine consist. The engine(s) are no different from any car in the train.
