You’re welcome c you know the bugs aren’t always so bad of course. Just at camp when the winds are down mostly and the temp is right for them. For most of the day in the water and what not it’s fine. They can be a test at times of course though!

By the way, I think the pile of rocks was a fox trap, a different style than I’d seen before but used to lure away foxes from the cave where the nest was cached. I’d thought it was another cache.

I like the Thanksgiving dinner idea. Potato flakes/buds are one of my favorite foods. I wonder if the Lake Trout in Lake Superior might have been something like that 150 or 200 years ago. With the Smelt and the Lamprey decimating the population in the 50's and 60's it can't be what it once was. I hope I get to see some Char in the next vid. Thanks again for taking us on this once in a lifetime adventure.

Good that you brought an antibiotic along in case your finger cut gets infected. I had a similar situation while camping and it did get infected. I poured hydrogen peroxide on it a couple times a day for a few days and it cleared right up. Kept a bandaid on to keep it clean. That one fish you caught was a monster. The Thanksgiving dinner was pretty neat. Never saw that one before. I very much enjoyed the video. And we even got to see a cameo of Huddy!!

Ya, I hurt my danger out there but for cuts and potential infection it’s a good idea to for sure. Bad infection is rare but it can be really scary. I’m glad you liked the video and ya, Buddy made it in when I was making the beef stew!! The stew was good but I think I dehydrated it for too long.

The float plane cold not take another hard shelled canoe due to weight restrictions. They’re are similar reasons to why they’re fairly commonly use in remote Arctic rivers. You can ship them to the far north and home as well for example as sometimes, there are no canoes to rent or buy in insolated communities that may be the jumping off point of a given trip

Wear a white t shirt and lose the hat ....a black shirt and the hat keeps the heat in ....keep the life jacket on bud. Stay close together in case one gets in trouble. tips: get a breathable/mesh hat get the pop up tent and military grade electric torch lighter.
@JimBairdAdventurer
@JimBairdAdventurer 3 күн бұрын
Sounds like pretty good tips. It’s not typically hot enough in the Arctic to necessitate those things. Black life jacket is way too hot though. I am also prone to heat stroke being fair skinned and a red head. Heat stroke is a lot more of a concern for me than drowning out there so, given my swimming and canoeing ability and the fact that I am significantly more prone to hear stroke than your average person I respectfully disagree with your “keep your life jacket in bud” comment haha.
