Nothing but the utmost respect for Julie Taymor and T.V. Carpio. They took probably the loftiest song in the soundtrack and transformed it. You may like this version _so much more_ than the original, but the fact remains that it would not have existed _'without'_ the original. Coming up with the tune in the first place was the the more creative _and_ difficult part of the artistic process. _"Improving"_ an already existing song by adding bright colors, bells and whistles, a pleasant sounding female voice and changing the gender association (from a visual perspective at least) was not all that hard to do --- _after the fact)._ Just because the original was the exuberant but _straight father_ and this is the _sexy sapphic woke daughter_ doesn't change the fact that the daughter would not have existed without the father.
