I think it’s mostly about learning the hygiene protocols. And also getting a certificate to be able to legally do client nails. I studied and felt ripped off but most salons only take in people with certificates so I’m ok with spending the money just to be able to work in this kind of industry.

You can say tapered square and they should do this. Or just show them a picture of this shape, and say coffin but not quite as thin

Tell them you want coffin by not too narrow and show them a picture. I got mine done today and since I wanted them quite short I didn't want the coffin shape to be too narrow so when she was looking for the small scissors to cut the side I asked her to file them into the shape I wanted instead of cutting the sides then filing them because if she did cut the sides they would end up super thin and looking weird So yeah, I like the shape I got you just have to speak up and say exactly what you want

Natalie Carmona You're absolutely right in the sense that if the acrylic tip is too small it will eventually pop off but it also could crack down the middle. But if you get water under your nails fungus will start growing under the nail. If that happens it will eventually damage the natural nail plate just like if you have a hang nail and you don't remove it will cause permanent damage to your natural nail plate. I'm a licensed hairstylist so you can trust everything I'm saying.
