Thank You! This was an excellent tutorial. I learned so much from your video. I love that you explain everything in detail as you paint. I tried following along with your instructions and was very pleased with the end result.

I learned so much from this video! Much more than I did in my painting class. My teacher told us to just paint whatever we wanted but she didn't give us instruction on anything at all. Thank you for making these videos! They make me want to get back into painting again.

This was so helpful! I actually used gouache (and watercolor for the under painting) with this tutorial and it worked perfectly! I learned so much from this video, thank you for the quality video.

ADVICE: add a small image of the picture you're looking at in the bottom right corner on the video. This will let viewers see what you're looking at as you take these steps so they can understand better :) Great video though!

If this is a basic painting for beginners, why not tell the audience which types of brushes are used? This is my second painting (first was a cherry from another site) and the instructor described the types of brushes he was using and why he was using them. Isn't this a little like trying to teach someone to play golf, reaching into the bag and pulling out an iron, then swinging away and returning the iron into the bag without telling the golf student that it was a 7 iron? Perhaps the equipment could be listed on the description above?
@thevirtualinstructor8 жыл бұрын
Hi Michael, Thanks for taking the time to leave a very detailed comment. The brushes used in the video are all nylon brushes. Everyone has their personal preferences when it comes to brushes, so I hesitate to tell students that they must use a specific brush. The artist makes the marks - not the brush. If you want to learn more on brushes and brush selection, you may take a look at the guide I created on the site here...thevirtualinstructor.com/choose-the-right-paintbrush.html

I can't paint shadows under objects, inside the object any day but not outside. They just do not turn out convincing. In this video the shadow is not convincing either but still better than mine.

I'm a bit confused about the use of water in your acrylic painting. I'm thaught that water degrades the binding of acryl...
@XofHope4 жыл бұрын
A bit of water won't hurt the binding. I was taught to use up to 20% water to paint. You don't have to measure it carefully, just make sure you only use a minimum of water to get the paint flowing.

Great Art work, but non-stop chatter :(
@thevirtualinstructor7 жыл бұрын
Hi Arun, Thanks for taking the time to comment. Some may consider the non-stop chatter as teaching.
@vak11037 жыл бұрын
Loved your artwork, I just felt, that you could ve put on some background music, after some basic explanation and let the art speak for itself. (which it actually does). It would have made the video awesome. Just a suggestion.
@mayamorabito16697 жыл бұрын
I like the explanations. Thanks for that. Keep up the good work (and the immense patience and diplomacy).
