Acrylic Painting with Greg Staples! {Judge Dredd}

Greg has graciously offered to show us his painting techniques, which should be very exciting to all who have wondered how he creates his striking images.
Greg is well known for his work on Judge Dredd for 2000AD as well as his work on "Magic The Gathering". He has also done concept art for films such as "World War Z", "Doomsday", "Hellboy" and "Dredd"
We are very excited to have him on and learn from him as well all paint Judge Dredd together.

I have never seen water color paper this bright and smooth. I own some Arches hot pressed paper but it's not as white and smooth as I would like.

The cameras don't represent color 100%, my painting's colors were blown out by the lighting a bit, so my paper looks super white, but it really is a creamy color. Having said that, once you add a background it really is a non issue. It is probably off white as they don't bleach the paper.

Was Greg in the UK? If so then he was up till 3 am for the livestream! I don't get how the acrylic paints don't dry on that paper palette if it's not stay-wet.

Yup Greg stayed up for us for this one! The palette paper is non absorbant so the paint tends to stay wet for longer.

Liquitex Soft Body, it is professional quality, so it is highly pigmented and really has a nice consistancy which makes it flow really well.
