Acrylic Pet portrait painting of my girl Frida

Join me as I paint an acrylic painting of my dog Frida. This piece of artwork was done on a 24x30 gallery wrapped canvas using acrylic paints; including brands like Golden acrylics, Liquitex and Winsor and Newton. Throughout this video I paint fur, have sections with realism while still painting in a more flowy style than i normally paint.
Painting Frida with nods to Frida (her namesake). Frida Kahlo has always been one of my favorite painters.
I've wanted to do this painting for sometime now and felt with Frida's 1st birthday being in August it was the perfect time to do it. Frida is my German Shorthaired Pointer puppy that we just got last year. I didn't realize how much I missed having a dog in my life until we brought Frida home. She is my constant companion and studio buddy.
For this painting I forced myself to remain looser in my movements. Often times I get caught up in the details wanting to get everything just right. I'd be lying if I said that it wasn't a challenge throughout this painting to stay with those looser movements, but in the end I am very happy with the end result.
