Wonderful piece! How long does it take to dry and what can I use to seal and give the end results a gloss? Art is a hobby for me, just trying to learn from others.

In abstract art it is all about how color affects the observer. Rothko used simple primitive rectangular shapes, but the color and use of contrast creates a mood. Leonardo Nierman uses a limited color palette using mostly blue, brown, orange, with dynamic sweeps and shapes, and an occasional hard object or line. Nierman is one of my favorite artists. Kandinsky the once head of Bauhaus, wrote several really good books on art, especially, I think it is called "The Spiritual in Art" my art was influenced by a beat era storyteller Ken Nordine who wrote a story recorded with jazz music background about a museum with a sound painting. I heard this when I was 15 and it stuck with me.

Same here ... it was very interesting but I just didnt like all the white that remained and nothing came through it except for the one corner. Have you tried using your swipe material to do your sides. After you have swiped just touch the sides with the swipe and it looks like a continuation of the swipe. A very interesting use of the densities of paint.

Thanks, Dalia! I take no offense. In fact, it was one of my students that said, "you should make a KZbin channel and do this painting to music.

Each painting you do is so individualistic... sometimes I think that color choice affects the outcome of a work very mysteriously. Your neutral works have an edge on them that the more pastel works don’t hit but each makes its own statement beautifully. And, then, there are the buttery blue surprises with burnt sienna! Love what you’re doing!

Thank you! I would like to see this painting out of the studio and on a wall in an environment - a living room or tranquil bedroom or where ever you would hang it yourself. It was lovely seeing your process, also, the music you chose is such a good accompaniment.

I saw this comment and I had to go back and watch my own video because I thought, "wait. I show all my dried paintings on an easel outside at the end of every video." But then I see that is not the case. This is an old video from before I began that practice. Fortunately, this was beautiful in the studio and out and has found a very happy home in Oklahoma.
