this for me is as essential as say an X-Acto blade. You can shape it with plain water and then just let it dry (just smooth it with your finger when wet). It has saved my minis many times where I've had to pull apart a mini say because the brush would not reach a certain area and then I re-glue the part back on that there's a crack of a small dent in the connection point. My local shops stock them so I am good.

Saw this a couple days ago and picked some up. It's fantastic for removing really fine 3d printed lines in hard to reach places without destroying detail. This is going to up my game so much more than every other method I've tried (wood putty, spot putty, bondo, all the kinds of 2 part epoxies, baking soda and ca...) and it works better than really thick acrylic. Seems to shrink less thus far.
@TheSilentW
@TheSilentW 3 жыл бұрын
It works - but gaps like that are not closed after drying. You have to apply it a third or fourth time to make them disappear. Same with Liquid Green Stuff. That is why I prefer Magic Sculpt for tasks like that.
@blueonblack83
@blueonblack83 2 жыл бұрын
Yep, you need to apply it multiple times. The video is kind of misleading, in that it is not a one-and-done thing.

I'am using this stuff too. Great to handle. But it has one disadvantage: it shrinks a little bit when drying.
@tlw4237
@tlw4237 3 жыл бұрын
And it can also shrink when hit by primer or acrylic paint. It’s not the only filler that shrinks as it dries, most air-drying ones do to some extent. For big gaps I prefer to use fine grade (white) Milliput.

Very helpful! Might this work as a bonding agent for resin minis? I have a few that won't stay glued to their bases because the point of contact is so small.
@tlw4237
@tlw4237 3 жыл бұрын
It has no bonding or adhesive ability. It’s essentially a thick acrylic paint that’s also prone to shrinkage. One of the superglues that contains rubber such as Loctite Power Flex might be worth trying, they resist shearing better than “normal” CAs.

fwiw I find the very high strength epoxy adhesives work well. I use 3.5 and 3.7 tonne per square inch polyamine types for knife-making and have used them on occasion for minis or small resin parts that wont hold with ECA or the like. Another thing worth considering if possible I find helps is pegging with small pins by drilling 1mm hole in base and model attachment points if shape allows for it, and using roughed up brass or springsteel wire in a slightly smaller diameter and glue the pins so there is a mechanical tie as well as a lot more surface area for the glue. Another thing maybe worth mentioning some release agents used are stubborn and waxy and need cleaning off resin parts to get a good bond. I tend to use water soluble types where I can when casting parts but not everywhere does and I find some are waxy and stubborn, being thin enough to not visibly see but they mess with glue adhesion. Apologies if that is obvious but worth mentioning in case hadn't thought of it.
@davedogge2280
@davedogge2280 3 жыл бұрын
no, it's not a bonding agent. If contact point is small, pinning it with staples and say some kind of stronger putty (say militput) on the underside to hold the metal staple you clipped is the best way. Get some good cutters to cut the metal staple and a manual mini hand drill handle with small drill bits to make the hole in the mini.

Is the dust after the product dries toxic to breath, or is it completely safe?
@vallejocolors
@vallejocolors 7 ай бұрын
Hello Salt! Thanks for your comment! 👍🏻 We would like to take a moment to assure you that our products are entirely safe for use and do not contain any harmful substances or toxic metals. Our Plastic Putty is entirely risk-free and, to avoid any undesirable dust when sanding, it is best practice to wet the sanded surfaces since it is made from marble powder. In addition, we do, however, advise against smelling or swallowing pure pigments. Even when our paint does not contain toxic products, those who prefer to use Air ranges can use them in a well-ventilated area (mandatory for our HOBBY SPRAY) 😊 Please do not hesitate to reach out to us again if needed 😊✌🏻

Ok, here’s what you do. And this same technique works in almost all situations and is FAR EASIER than organizing other random people to call for something to be restricted or banned or outlawed………Just don’t listen. Turn off the sound, use captions, “change the channel”. But it doesn’t need to be removed from existence so that NO ONE can hear it just because it “offends” one person. In other words, try NOT thinking like a Republican.
