I made them just for that! It’s so hard when you’re just doing one thing all day to remember the stuff you learned 5 years ago. Good luck and if you want anything let me know and I’ll make a vid. Cheers and thanks.

The room size of 30m3 is too small for 3.7kW flueless fire (3.7kW x 22.22 = 41.1m3) At Risk situation. But video is very helpful. Thank you. Love your channel.

What about if you have a DFE fire, what category is that?
@passyourgasАй бұрын
@@tompfennellBut this includes 35cm2 allowance for adventitious air. If you have another dfe, or open flue appliance in the room then it’s 135cm2 @@tompfennell Your gas book will explain it under ventilation. I hope that helps.

@@tompfennell I don’t think all that I wrote came out …. It’s 100cm2. If the chimney has no throat, I.e if it’s under a canopy then it’s 50% of the case of the chimney.

Say u have a scenario, a flueless space heater in a 30m3 hallway, a 30kw gross warm air unit, no window but a door direct to outside, I’ve worked out both the fire & boiler need 100cm2 of ventilation each, can u add 2 categories together
@passyourgas2 жыл бұрын
If the warm air heater is also flueless it belongs in the same category as the fire so you add them together. If it’s open flued then it’s in a different category and you choose the one that needs most ventilation…cheers
@shredder80002 жыл бұрын
@@passyourgas what about if they both come out the same, so they both require 100cm2, do u just pick 1 or add them both together,
@passyourgas2 жыл бұрын
@@shredder8000 Hi shredder…no, if you have two categories needing 100cm then you just use 100cm…you only ever use one category…remember these are MINIMUM ventilation requirements, you can put 200cm in if you want, as long as you don’t go under 100cm….hope that helps..

Hi, great video again. Wanted to ask, if I fitted a gas hob in a property and there was a boiler and a fire. What would a visual check on them require me to do, especially on the fire? Thank you
@passyourgas2 жыл бұрын
Hi Abdul. Thanks for the compliment. Re the visual checks, do you use the Viper book? If so it’s all on page M42. If not let me know and I’ll create a quick video for you…in fact I’ll be doing this anyway thanks to your question…
@abdulh632 жыл бұрын
@@passyourgas thank you so much. I'm just wondering if you have to take the fire out and do a flue flow and spillage on a visual. I always assumed a visual is something quick and it seems a lot to do when you're only there to fit a hob. Would love a video on it, thanks again
@passyourgas2 жыл бұрын
@@abdulh63 It will be up by tomorrow for you. I’ll tell you straight off that you don’t need to do flue flows etc but there are 2 sets of rules depending on what you have done in the house…vid tomorrow.

30m3 not 30m2 = room size Thanks

Well spotted `zabiullah, a slip of the tongue, thanks for pointing it out. 😀

Also not pointed out, is that you would not be able to fit a 3.7kw flueless fire into a room of only 30 m3 volume. There is a maximum allowance of 45 watts per m3 of heated space (45x30), so the maximum heat input permissible for this appliance in this particular room, would actually be only 1.35 kW
