Finally got it up and running. The only delays we had was because we realized we needed some extra parts (I’ll list that below) kzbin.infoUgkxihMYiJNXcHdbH-7ihymsLz61l7jVyb5O . So we have a loft where our current hvac just couldn’t seem to keep cool during the summer. We have been using a window unit since we bought this house over 6 years ago (all the houses in this neighborhood were built in the 80’s and majority of the houses built like ours use a window unit). I hate window units because they are just so noisy and the one we had really only cools one side of the loft. I had contemplated upgrading our current HVAC, but with all the rising prices these days, it would take years before saving up enough to do that. With the advice of my father-in-law (used to run an HVAC business), he recommended we get an inverter instead. We thought we bought everything we needed, but there were just a few other parts we didn’t anticipate needing (which is what caused most of our delay). My friend and father-in-law did all the work to get it installed and running and now we have nice cool air circulating nicely throughout the entire loft. It is very quiet and even the outside unit is much quieter than our main HVAC unit. Saved ourselves thousands getting this.

If I may ask a question, I have never worked with 410A before, my last jobsite (federal prison) only used 404A. My new jobsite has a 410A system. I loaded 4Lbs of vapor not knowing at the time I should use liquid only, my suction side line froze over. Is it because I caused the blend to get messed up from the vapor?

Does it cover troubleshooting multi zone units? For a multizone mini split system in cooling, why when one unit is turned on, the line ices up and the system won’t cool but as soon as you turn on a second indoor unit, then they both cool as they should?

Because of uncertainty of knowing how much refrigerant to add to mini splits after determining the system is low on refrigerant, I recover the refrigerant, vacuum complete system and fill according to plate and line set length. However, always find it problematical to hold system beneath 500 microns for 10 minutes although can usually to vacuum to 100 - 200 microns with 3 Nitrogen purges. It generally rises up to about 1200 micron after isolating the vacuum pump. (No trouble vacuuming line sets isolated from the compressor.) It seems as though there is residual R410 in the compressor oil that is slowly turning to vapor. I could not find an answer in the Inverter Mini Split Operations and Service Procedures (but many other good answers!). Any advice on how to do a better vacuum job?

Compressor Oil will start to flow out to the line set and Evap unit. There might be some microscopic leaks that those leak oil trap some moisture.

I bought this book digitally and downloaded it onto my wife’s laptop, not knowing that I could never move it again. It’s been such a PITA for me to not be able to access it on my own devices that I go to the book about half as often as I otherwise would. Kinda sucks. Just thought I’d mention that to anyone who’s considering buying the digital version. I probably would’ve gone for the paper version if I had known, although I highly prefer ebooks these days…

Where did you purchase the ebook from, acservicetech.com apple books, google play, or amazon? You should still have access to it on another device if you are under your account.

@@acservicetechchannel I bought it on iTunes but on my wife’s account, if I remember correctly. I’ll give it another shot. Just thought I’d warn other luddites in case they would rather go the print route. Thanks

You should have access to it on any device you would like as long as you log into your apple books account on the device. Let me know how it goes. You are speaking to Craig by the way.
