Wow this is legendary stuff here. Took me 6 months in learning the hard way and I just got it when you explained it so thoroughly and actually showed what you were doing clearly. Awesome job and thank you for teaching all of us younger techs how to handle service calls like a pro. 👍💯

Hey so I’m new to the HVA/C 2 month in class actually and we’re going over the wiring and I have one main question with the thermostat. Would you need the system on and running and power going to it to trouble shoot any problem that can occur in the thermostat? If you need the system off would you turn it off from the breaker or would it technically turn off when you take the face plate but power would still be going to it so you can trouble shoot? Or is it depending on what problem is being trouble shooted? Thanks
@caru32572 жыл бұрын
My method is to turn it off at the breaker if I need it off. A long time, I chased my tail when someone turn the thermostat down while I was in a crawlspace.

Watching your videos I realized I have a problem. I have a old 1992 carrier furnace with a two wire thermostat. My problem is I noticed my blower motor comes on First. Over the years my pilot light kept going out. Now I know why. What do you think the problem is. Is it wired incorrectly. I am stumped. Any help would greatly be appreciated. Your videos are very educational Thank you

Question sir, why is the purpose of checking for ohms. I know it has to do with resistance, but what does that tell us. when checking for ohms power must always be off?
@uppy88627 ай бұрын
Omhs is also able to tell you if your wire is connected/not broken solid wire will read a very low ohms value depending on the length of the run. Broken wire will read OL

Shouldn’t the fan comes on first then the heating element after in heating mode And when the heating mode is turn off the reverse should happen meaning the heating element is close while the fan remains running until the heating element comes down to an acceptable level before shutting off
