@breadyegg You're probably right. The British love to find foreign names "impossible to say". I remember when Arnold Schwarzenegger was starting out, people delighting in mispronouncing his name or saying "That Arnold Swot-thingy" until he became so famous that they couldn't do that any more. I have to confess I do it sometimes. But only with people I don't like, such as that Michael Porthole who farts about on trains on licence payers money.

Rhubba The line about hating women is now very pointed. Spacey being gay was an open secret, though. But I think Serafinowicz was playing off Spacey's characters, same as his Fiennes was inspired by Fiennes performance on stage in a play.
@TheBlackLodger7 жыл бұрын
Seth McFarlane probably did since he joked about Harvey Weinstein's over-obsession with women during the 2013 Oscars, so 4 years ago, and just recently admitted that a close friend of his had told him about being a victim of Weinstein. Also back in 2005, he made a pedo joke about Spacey in Family Guy, specifically when Stewie yelled that he had just escaped from his basement. Oh and just recently, a filmmaker had accused him of molestation.

I can't tell if this comment is serious or not, but when Spacey was at the Old Vic in London, literally everyone knew that he was preying on young male actors. Actors warned each other to keep their dressing room doors locked shut to avoid him.
@Rhubba7 жыл бұрын
I know someone who was working at the Old Vic when Spacey was director there and he's confirmed a lot of what you said. My original comment was sarcastic but rooted in a serious thought. By the time Serafinowicz did this sketch, Spacey had made the movie Swimming With Sharks and the rumours were flying around the industry about him, but it hadn't got out to the public yet. I'm wondering if this is Serafinowicz's sly dig at Spacey.
