Driving from Miami, Florida to NYC | Part 3 - I-95 Rest Stop (St Augustine) to Jacksonville, FL

Part 3 of a drive from Miami to New York City from March 29, 2022 - April 1, 2022. This part is entirely within Florida, starting from the St Augustine Rest Stop along I-95 and ending in Jacksonville. I stayed at South of the Border, SC on March 29, 2022, and in Washington DC on March 30, 2022 and March 31, 2022. The total drive took a little under 21 hours.

Ok, i don't pay attention well, you are still uploading. Wondered why you did 2 hours and a rest stop then we have to jump to DC 😂. Thought it might be an add for flow max, i know since I been past 60 i gotta hit the rest stops evy two hours! 👍🏻🐺 Love seeing the geographical and fauna and laandscape changes. Funny you stopped in San Marco. I was at that Starbucks by the square every morning that week so you might have driven right by me. Definitely one of Jacksonville's hipper neighborhoods along with Riverside right across the St Johns. If only the beach wasn't 20 miles away.

Once I went from 15 miles below Jacksonville to Stamford, CT in one day (23 3/4 hours) 996 miles. Why? Impending snow storm! Didn’t want to get stuck on highway. Especially 95 north.

You drive carefully and smooth US style and you keep your distance (smart). But if you would drive like that over here in Belgium, you would either get multiple fines and be lucky or you would be dead. Overtaking on the right, overtaking full lines, staying in second lane while first one is free. All three are major offences over here in Belgium. But hey your fellow drivers are worse. In Europe turning signals are only optional on BMW's, in USA nobody seems to care. And wow, I've seen trucks all lined up next to each other, trucks in the left lane, trucks overtaking on the right, horrible. And then there're the real idiots. Going from right to left in one movement and back. Us 12.4 deadly road accicents per 100k habitants, we only 5.4 and we're quite high in Europe because we h'ave dense roads with loads of traffic, Germany has 3.7. I also noticed very few police and no crash barriers for miles and miles.
