Thanks for the tip about Global Entry, Ken. Sounds like a good thing to have. I can’t believe all the schlepping you did yesterday - first getting to the airport in London from Edgware Road and then from Newark to Astoria. I would have been exhausted. It’s terrible how many subway stations in NYC aren’t accessible. And then you did a livestream Monday afternoon!! I hope you had a good rest on Monday night!! Have a great Thanksgiving!!

19:30 P4 is an alt pickup/drop off area if the terminals are congested. It also has street access (unlike the railLink), and if you're parking long term, it's a little cheaper than parking directly at the terminal. However you're right, it's not easy to understand that at all for someone who doesn't know how EWR works!

Hi ActionKid. Thank you for your help to get from Newark Airport to Manhattan. But … that was too complicated for me. And the price is too high. If I take the train(s) with my wife, we have to buy $ 31,50. I can imagine, that the train from JFK-Airport costs the half. And the train is a direct-connection from JFK to Manhattan. Do you remember describing this route before? Or am I mistaken? I wish you many more trips through the World … and don‘t forget, to visit the nice Germany. Greetings from Germany.

Watched your vid doing same thing into London first, and crazy how different it is. Never realized how much of a dump our airports are, and the trains getting into the city look like you have gone back in time 50 years compared to the trains in London. That is to say nothing of the stupid air train thing before you get to the actual train you need to use. I was thinking how expensive the trains were in London watching your video but I forgot how expensive it was to do the same type of trip in nyc until I watched this. How is it that London is much older but doesn’t look so run down as nyc, and comparing the subway to the underground- man, that is depressing. On the flip side, I like all the skyscrapers in New York, coffee always beats tea, and I doubt they have decent bagels or pizza

Which route did you think was better with someone with a carry-on? The Newark AirPort Express bus or the NJ train with the transfers? (If your finally destination was Manhattan) which was a “smoother ride“, in your opinion?
@thomasmarino92848 ай бұрын
Newark Airport is the closest airport to Manhattan people think because it says New Jersey it's not close! I worked for United and retired after 20 somewhat years-and I can assure EWR is the closest airport to Manhattan

36:23 Computer Train Announcer (Dave - Text to Speech): Attention Newark Airport Passengers! Now arriving on Track A, is the New Jersey Transit 1:06 PM inbound train to Penn Station New York, making stops at Newark Penn, Secaucus, and New York. Please stand back from the yellow line and please watch the gap while boarding the train.

Haven't been in an airport in years. But that Global Entry thing sounds like regular travelers should do it in selfish interest but to shorten the lines for all the not-so-regular travelers. And wow, that aisle on your plane was narrow! I assume the space was taken by the little cubicles for the high priced fares. I wouldn't like that plane at all. Might convince me to choose an airline without that type of fare.
@saratemp790 Жыл бұрын
Maybe cheaper to take the bus to the Newark Path train, then to Manhattan.

Yes, it's much cheaper to take the public bus but it's crowded and they have limitations on how much luggage you can bring on board.

Why nj transit?! Just take the PATH train for 2.95 . Runs 24/7 unlike nj transit! Also you have a choice of going to midtown or downtown. Little bit slower, but more flexible.

Sorry, AK, that was a great exhibition of why not to live in the country's largest city. Three airports are barely enough to handle the traffic. Only JFK is in proximity. Wherever I might choose to travel, it would be nonstop bypassing the who New York area. I did one trip with a stop in JFK. Next trip my wife took was nonstop to Amsterdam. No extended rail trips were involved.

Why did you fly into Newark since you were going to Astoria? Would've been easier to fly into JFK?
@chrismv102 Жыл бұрын
One of your best videos. Growing up in Brooklyn I'm struck by the difficulty of getting things done. Why is there even a AirTrain? Why doesn't the Path train go to Newark Airport and the Subway go to LaGuardia and JFK. Especially LaGuardia. It's right across Flushing Bay from the 7 Flushing Line. THhe same with JFK. It's right next to the A train. The Port Authority to such a poorly run system. BTW, there is a tunnel from Penn Station to Herald Square. They closed it 30 years ago. It's still there but it's terrible the state of the infrastructure at Penn Station. The poor homeless people sleeping against the wall. The new Moynihan Hall is an improvement but only for the small percentage of passengers who ride Amtrak. For NJ Transit and LIRR passengers it's a horror show.

Salaried workers taking paper tickets and opening doors in 2023. Amazingly inefficient. NJ Transit and MTA have huge labor costs it will have to reduce with automation. It takes money away from improving trains, tracks, and stations.

Why are you broadcasting these conductors' personal conversation? And keeping the camera on him and the woman sitting down? You should have stood up and shown the view out the windows instead of violating people's privacy like that!

@Alex-bf9ec Жыл бұрын
I agree, he should've filmed through the window, then it would've been more interesting. However, during a conversation in a public setting, it can still be caught when you're trying to film so it wouldn't matter as again, you have no privacy in public. Basically, anyone on the train can literally hear the conductor's personal conversation which can be quite annoying@@stitcher4729
