10:24 once on a Sunday, in 1981, at fourteen, I took a cab back from the Roxy (18th and 10th), where I had been skating, and had the driver take the FDR up. Exit 12 (61st) was closed, next exit was 14 (no 13) at 96th, and it was bumper-to-bumper traffic in hot weather. The normal $6.00 fare went to $9.60. Never again did I have a cabbie go uptown on the FDR. The M-23x used to run this line for $2.00 from 79th to Wall Street and back.

depending on traffic it's almost as quick to go up Church into Sixth then the Park Drive (not on weekends obviously).
